Updated Pictures below!!
So I lurked here for months and months. I drove my now fiance crazy with picture after picture of all of your beautiful rings. Thanks to the advice we recieved here we found a beautiful ring that we are both thrilled with. And now I can finally post it!!!
The mounting is from Fay Cullen
Stats:
Estate OEC
1.88ct
Approx:
G-H
VVS2-VS1
My grandfather used to buy and sell a lot of estate jewelry and loose stones for years. He bought this stone at least 20-30 years ago. When we pulled it out of the batch that we were looking at, I immediately knew it was an OEC and had to have it, thanks to what I learned here on Pricescope!! It is beautiful, and like everyone says these pictures really don't do it justice. I think that all the facets in an OEC make them hard to pohotgraph because I rarely see pictures that show the beauty of this cut. I love how different it is. The color and fire that the stone throws off are amazing.
Because I knew that the ring would be done soon, Jon had to be creative about the proposal. He made me a Stuffed Cat at Build-A-Bear (kind of a tradition of ours). Then he recorded a message on the voice box he put inside which wasa clue to reach into the back where they close the animals up at the store. When I did that I found the ring wrapped up in a little heart inside. It was really sweet and thoughtful. I was grinning like a goofball for weeks after!
So without further ado, here is my beautiful E-ring:
That's all I have for now, hopefully one sunny day (may not be for months here in MI) I'll be able to get a better picture of the stone itself. It is so clear with a beautiful, delicate culet. I'm so happy with it!
