I told my boyfriend that we don''t have to go ring shopping anymore and that I''ll trust him to do his manly duties. Ack! I wanted to check out Robbin''s Bro, Tiffany''s, LA Diamond District & Matthews in Studio City. He already knows I want a RB around 1.5c but I was stressing us both out with the nitty gritty details (table size, depth percentages, etc) and taking the romance out of it. So, last night I decided to let it go.

The one setting that I got to try on with him was the Michael B petit pave & I loved it. But he is leaning towards a classic Tiffany style setting and I''m ok with that as well. As long as it''s delicate & set high enough for a eternity wband to sit flush together. I started recently really loving the look after browsing the Tiffany''s site as well as PS members with such beatiful sets of eternity bands w/classic ering settings!

So, now I wait. It''s out of my hands!

tt you are a very brave woman! I know your ring will be stunning though...

Very brave indeed! I am sure he has listened to everything you have said about what is important to you. How liberating it must be to let go of all the stress associated with the details and just trust that he will find something perfect for you.

twinkletoes - i feel like i want to do that too...sort of. in some ways i like being involved so that i can guide him toward something i''ll definitely love but in other ways i think it''s awfully romantic for him to pick something out that he pictures me wearing for the rest of my life. i''m torn.

good for you for being strong enough to let go!

Good for you!! i bet it will be perfect!

He won''t want to disappoint you so I''m sure he''ll get you something amazing!

I hope I''m able to do that when the time has come. That''s our agreement as of now...so good for you!

Oh Twinkletoes, you brave girl! I''m sure the surprise will be worth it, be strong!

yay, how exciting!! Best wishes on receiving your beautiful surprise very soon!

TT: How brave you are. Your soon to be FI will choose the perfect e-ring for you. And I''m sure you will love it.

I too have the same dilemma. BF is going insane with all the rings I show him. And everyday I''m more confused. I''d love to look at more rings just to make sure they look good on my hand. I know I will wear this special ring for the rest of my life and it will mean so much to me. He says the last say will be his anyway, since he will be the one to pick it out. As we all are, we are perfectionist in regards to this matter, it''s so hard to let go. Well yesterday we went to the mall. We passed by a jewelry store and he asked me if I want to go in to have a look. I said NO. He was surprised and confused at the same time. He thought I made up my mind. I didn''t but I just thought he will be happy that we don''t have to go look anymore. I was dying to look at rings but decided not to. It''s better this way. Oh well!

Twinkletoes, you are a brave and trusting woman!!....and I know he won''t disappoint you. I used to think I''d be able to give over control that way, but I''m just too obsessed now.

...but this way you''ll get a surprise! Yay!!

Twinkletoes,

You are so brave to recognize the situation and let him make the decisions? I am in the exact same situation except mine wasn''t voluntary so I''m not nearly as self-disciplined as you are. I am a super control freak and I wanted to make sure my bf was educated about all the diamond specs so we wouldn''t get ripped off. He finally told me to show him some pictures of what I liked and then just trust him...and I do. I love him so much and I know everything will work out. :)

What especially helped me though was a thread (I can''t find the link right now) about women who were proposed to and how they reacted to the ring their bf chose. About half of them said it wasn''t exactly what they would pick out from a jewelry store as their first choice, but wouldn''t exchange it for the world.

So I''m right there with you just playing the waiting game and keeping my fingers crossed :)
