I don't want any of that either ... am I alone?

Oh, and yes, I would love to read the thousands of replies you thoughtfully mention (to hold my eyeballs longer  ).
But not enough to turn around, drop my drawers, and bend over for you Dearest Elon.

Imagine if Hitler owned social media in the 1930s. :evil2:

The entire world would speak only one language now.
German.

I expect our language will soon be renamed "American".

I bought a panasonic toothbrush 2 yrs ago that was wi fi compatible. It wanted to make sure I was brushing all my teeth the same amount of time and wanted to give me weekly reports on how effectively I was brushing .

@Matata how would it know you are brushing every tooth for equal time vs. just brushing the same tooth the full time?
Is there a tiny camera with AI to understand what the camera sees?

Tech doing all the learning, thinking and remembering for us is expanding at a dizzying pace.

Eventually we'll all be stupid mind-numb dolts, vegging out on a Lazy-Boy, who do nothing but consume entertainment.

Oh wait! .............. :knockout:

I have no idea. It was such a ridiculous option that I had no intention of using it. Whatever it was likely contributed to the short lifespan of the toothbrush. It seems that what's packed into new appliances and systems shortens their lifespans. I know from experience that it increases the cost of repairs.

I do like that there's an app for the new hvac we had installed 2 wks ago and I like that they can remotely diagnose some should they occur through the smart thermostat.

The only thing that is connected to WiFi with an app on my phone is my Ring video doorbell, for security reasons.

DK :))

I don't control anything in my house via wifi, other than, like @dk168, the app for my security cameras is managed that way.

When I was working, I had to have One Drive on my work controlled phone, and I do upload a few things to the Cloud, mainly my photos, which has come in handy when I once lost almost everything.

I never use location services.

I envy folks that during the 80's and 90's were in the prime of their life, you lucky ba£$$%ds!
You had your best years in a more real, less crazy world.

How about nav systems?
Think anyone knows how to drive to their local supermarket???

I forgot about One Drive - I need that mainly for work too.

I use the actual nav that is in my car, not something that goes through my phone. I turn that off. But I know the car nav can track me if someone tried to do that. And yes, I can still get to my local supermarket, and many other places, without either, thank goodness. When I can't, then it's time to check into assisted living. :lol-2:
