I finally got to see a Tiffanys in person!

Well, it''s not exactly a Tiffanys...

I just had to post this b/c it cracked me up! We were on a cruise last week (where I got engaged by the way!!!! https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/i-finally-get-to-post-my-ring.85249/ ) and we were riding around in Cozumel and saw this! I couldn''t belive it and I just had to have a picture b/c I thought about all of you instantly and knew I had to share it! They even tried to paint it the Tiffany blue, which is close, but no cigar! I didn''t get to go inside, but I wounder what they have in there... Just a laugh for the day, enjoy!

Okay, so this sounds crazy...but was that store by chance near any duty-free shopping centers?

While I''m guessing they were selling Oaxaca silver in there and probably in some serious copyright infringements, you may be surprised...the Tiffany''s in other countries are kinda off-kilter. If you search Tiffany''s international locations and click on Latin American or Caribbean locations, you''ll see what I mean...there are Tiffany''s in almost every tourist location, and they have strange names - it will say the name of a shopping mall or brand and then Tiff''s listed below.

When I was in Barbados, DH and I visited a "Tiffany''s" that was in section of a jewelry store that wasn''t Tiffany''s, that was in a little kinda rinky-dink indoor mall. It was crazy weird. We bought a silver necklace there - and the whole time I was thinking "is this for real??" but it came in the proper blue box and the proper blue pouch, etc. When we got back, I checked, and yupp, it''s totally legit and listed as Tiffany''s Bridgetown location.

Yes, the Tiffany Blue color is a color trademarked to Tiffany & Co. and used exclusively by them. I've heard that it is Pantone 1837 (by the year Tiffany was established) but I have also heard that this is rumor.

Also, I've actually got Tiffany Blue nail polish (3 bottles of it from my lovely boyfriend) by China Glaze which must have had permission from Tiffany to make this color because it is SPOT on in the bottle and on the nail (my boyfriend and I have compared it ha!) and their ad's used to say "Shall we meet for breakfast at Tiffany's?" I love it for my toe nails! (and yes, I love the color along with the store and Im proud of it!)

Funny you mention that because there is a little "cleaners" shop nearby which is called Tiffany Cleaners. Their sign used to have a similar font as Tiffany, and the letters were an obvious "trying to copy the color" blue. haha I used to get a kick out of that because it was more of a powder blue but you just knew they were trying to do the color. It was an extremely old sign and I noticed just last week they finally changed it. So unfortunately, I wont be able to take a photo to share with you.
