I finally have Butterflies

After much hunting, hemming and hawing - I am pleased to announce that I’ve finally found diamond and setting peace. Yes, peace!

Thank you to @soxfan @yssie and @Siamese Kitty for their creations and putting — nay, (nicely) forcing — this beautiful idea into my brain. The moment I saw @soxfan and her new digs, the hunt was on. There was no turning it off once I got going.

Whiteflash has once again outdone themselves despite an issue with the first go-round and needing a recast. I’m grateful the issue was addressed before shipment although the wait was tough! Liza is a DREAM (my faaaaave rep) along with Vera and one of their master jewelers, Hung. This is the dream team.

Technically, I upgraded from a 1.6 to 1.988 (which was a new setting, and then another one since the first was too thin) and the from 1.988 to my current 2.584 (which again, was another setting). So I guess that’s two upgrades and four settings? Not sure is the math here. Who knows.

The Whiteflash Butterflies feels like home!

Butterflies: 18kt unfinished white gold, no modifications except asking them to make sure the insides are well-polished

Center stone: ACA 2.584 I color VVS2, measures 8.88 x 8.96 x 5.39

Sides:
ACA 0.402 I color VS1 4.71 x 4.73 x 2.92
ACA 0.405 I color VS2 4.73 x 4.76 x 2.93

Honestly those proportions, it's so white and bright, and also looks very easy to clean.

I was not a three stone lover until I saw the Butterflies setting. I think, it’s the three stone rings where the diamonds are the same size that I really did not prefer.

The proportions are the key! I’m so pleased with the way it turned out. I don’t have a good imagination so I had to rely on a photoshopped and stitched together pic as my only real life reference using my own fingers and at least a center stone that I was familiar with.

At first, the sides were going to be 0.30ish. Then, I read some old threads and decided on 0.40ish since those would measure half the diameter of the center. Also, Liza got me some comparison photos and it looked too small. Lmk if you want to see these, I’m not sure if I still have them.

It’ll be done sometime at the end of this month. And it’s a long time coming, been working on my ER since January! Not like 2020 has been very cooperate, ya? LOL
