Hi everyone!

I am so excited because I found THE dress! This was only my second salon but I just know I won''t find anything more perfect for me. At the first store, I tried on several dresses that I liked including a gorgeous Rivini dress (the one Keys girl bought) and a very glamorous Ines di Santo but neither of them was exactly the look I was going for so I left the store feeling unsure if I would try on a dress and just KNOW it is the one.

Then I went to one of the only salons in LA that has the Melissa Sweet line because I really wanted to check out the Mila which was the first dress I ever tore out of a magazine. And a dress that both my mom and my best friend tore out of a magazine to show me. I tried on several gowns at this store but once I put on the Mila I knew!

Unfortunately, I couldnt take pictures but here is the dress. They are making it hollow-to-drop (only a couple inches shorter than the original) and, when it comes in, the salon will be making the top into a more sweetheart/V-shape because it looks better on me. And instead of the flower that comes with it, they will send extra taffeta and the salon is going to make a more structured flower with some beading sewn inside for a little more glamour.

I am so so excited! And relieved!! Now I gotta start hitting the gym! ;)

Wow, that is one knockout dress! Congratulations! I can''t wait to see pictures!

Yay, congratulations!!! Can''t wait for pics!! Melissa Sweet sure is making a lot off PSer''s lately!

Wow!

Karasue - PSers do seem to love Melissa Sweet''s dresses - and for good reason! ;)

The dress looks different on me than on the model (haha obviously) because I am 5''2" and curvier but i still think it is flattering. I want to look curvy and glam on my wedding day! And I went with the white instead of the ivory but the white doesnt look as white and shiny as it does in the pic above.

Now I have to shop for bridesmaid dresses - I love the new Jenny Yoo taffeta dresses and now we can all be in fun taffeta! Here is some options:

Oops I mean here are some options:

What do you all think about same color but different style bridesmaid dresses? I will have six girls but I dont know how I feel about mixing up the styles...

I love the style of #3 [the purple one]. I think it is universally flattering. I don''t mind same color/different styles. You want to find a cut that looks good on all.

Beautiful dress! Congratulations!!

Congrats on finding your dress! I can imagine what a relief it is to have that taken care of ... It is really beautiful!

I agree with Diamante Blu. I like #3 the best as well and the same color diff styles idea sounds great!

Congrats! I love that dress. I actually tried it on, but it wasn''t that flattering on me. And I love your taste in BM dresses!

I love love love it! I tried it on and loved it too!!! It is so flattering! Can''t wait to see pics!

Thanks girls! I am really excited and wish I had pictures to share!

In terms of the bridesmaid dresses, I actually am worried about the third (and first) one because it has a pencil skirt and most of my girls are on the hippy-er side (like me!) so the skirt of the second may look more flattering. I will have to go to the Jenny Yoo store with a couple of the girls and have them try them on!

Yay, I LOVE the Mila dress! I just tried it on yesterday, actually, in my "back to the drawing board" dress search. It is so beautiful! The flower detail on the side is so amazing in person!

Sunny,
I think you are great to be thinking of picking a color and then letting the ladies pick the style that fits them best. My sister did that for her wedding and we all got a different dress in the same color from vera wang. Her BMs varied from size 0 that had to be cut down to a size 22...so we all were happy and that was worth it! Just give parameters on length or whatever you care about (and tell them early what color/type shoes, esp if you are going with tea length), and they will feel ownership and you will have what you want; happy and gorgeous bms. just my .02 as a NINE TIME bm. ;)

Sunnygirl, I am another Melissa Sweet bride... :)

How exciting it is to pick a dress, huh?!!! I''m with you in the height department; I''m 5''0". Have you picked shoes yet?
