I went to my 2nd fitting 2 weeks ago, and while I was there, the seamstress stuck herself with ha pin and bled all over my dress. She then proceeded to SPIT ON HER HAND AND RUB IN ON THE BLOODY SPOT.

WHILE I WAS STILL WEARING IT!

I was NOT HAPPY.

On top of this they screwed up my bustle.

I was wimpy about it, never said a word, and left with my tail between my legs. The next day I felt really angry so I called the manager of the store, who directed me to the head seamstress. Both were apologetic, but offered no discount, etc. I asked her to please call me as soon as they knew whether or not the stain came out, and no-one called.

SO I called them, and the seamstress told me the stain was out. I was of course, skeptical. I went for my final fitting on Wednesday and viewed the dress. They had to CUT THE STAIN OUT – luckily it was right on a seam, and the dress still looked beautiful – PHEW!!

Anyway, thought I would share my dramatic bridezilla story with you all.

OMG! I''m glad you were able to talk to someone about it... but I''m not glad they weren''t more apologetic! It''s not like that happens every day. Does it?!?!

At least your dress is still beautiful. Did your bustle get fixed?

HOLY CRAP. I''m sorry but they should be giving you a big fat discount for your alterations. I''m glad it turned out ok though.

It''s time!!! YAY!

omigod! that is not bridezilla at all... that is ridiculous!! you should definitely be getting some sort of discount... grrrr

oh my gosh.. that happens way too often.. You are at LEAST the third bride Ive heard of this happening too ( the semastress bleeding on the dress.. ).. You''d think people would be a little more careful. They''re professionals! Anyway. I''m sorry it happened to you, but I''m glad your dress will be OK.

Oh no treysar!! I think this is a perfect excuse to get all Bridezilla''d up in there!!! My proverbial hat is off to you for not screaming at them on the spot. I hope nothing else happens with the seamstress, but if it does, I hope you get a big fat discount!

that's just......eiw!

Good thing it was on a seam!!

Post pics!! We wanna see you in your dress!!

Here it is BEFORE alterations - they made me order a few sizes to big. Plus I lost 12 lbs, so hopefully the rEAL pics will look better!

Oooh! You look so beautiful treysar!!! Is that a Maggie? It''s too many brides - I forget who has what dress!

I''d be so pissed!!!

glad they fixed it though... but it would''ve been nice if they''d been at least a little apologetic about it! sheesh!

I think it''s only considered a Bridezilla moment if you get angry unneccesarily. In this case, it was MORE than deserved, and you didn''t even act out. Bravo! I know I wouldn''t have had that kind of restraint. They really do owe you some kind of compensation, not only for what she did, but for being so good about it.
Hope all turns out well.

Wait, they made you order it a few sizes too big AND they won''t give you a discount? I would talk to the owner again. Making you order the dress larger means that you would have to spend more money on alterations. And spitting on your dress? Yuck.

Your dress is lovely though and you look beautiful!

You look BEAUTIFUL, and it''s a perfect dress

But serious EW about the bleeding and spit on the dress....and I have heard just WAY too many stories of brides being forced/pressured to order a too-big dress which then needed a bunch of alterations. BLEAH! But no matter--the dress is simply fab!!!

treysar- the dress is going to look beautiful on you, regardless of the stupid seamstress. love it

I"m so sorry!
What a freaky experience!
BUT, you DO look beautiful! I love your dress.
I do think it''s strange that they had you order a dress that was SO much larger.
When I bought mine they measured me, and then we looked through this big binder of dresses and sizes to determine what size I would buy. I fell between two sizes.
Between those two sizes, they encouraged me to buy the slightly bigger size.
I told the woman that I was clearly going to be watching my weight, but she laughed (kindly) and said that it''s easier to take a dress IN, than to let a dress OUT. Probably a very funny and true statement.
I wonder why they don''t use thimbles or something (I know nothing about sewing obviously.) You''d think they''d be highly aware of out sensitive brides are, and how blood looks on white gowns!

Not cool

and not healthy or clean...I dont know if I would have yelled either, but I might have cried when I got home. I definately would talk to the manager and ask her how she plans on taking care of the situation. I might even putit that way. You wont be acting in a rude manner but at the same ti me you are letting her know that you were not fully staisfied with how it has been handeled up till now.
You are a typical bride age and thus it is possible that you have other engaged friends, they dont want you telling other girls "that is where I was bleed on, spit on and they did nothing" bad for sales. Still way to go for acting so calm.

I just wanted to say that you look wonderful in your gown (even before the alterations!) and your gown looks almost identical to mine! Mine was the Maggie Sottero Mariella--good choice you made! You''re going to love it, thank goodness they didn''t screw up your dress royally! Can''t wait to see pics of it altered!

Take care!

Ok, at least they fixed it. You were totally justified in being upset.

But...most importantly...you look just GORGOUS in your dress! Yay!

It looks fabulous on you--ethereal!

Question, though. How many alterations had to be made? I thought the beauty of the corset-backed dresses was that you didn''t have to have them altered (in the bodice, anyway)--you could lace them to fit. (of course, hem & bustle-related alterations are another story)

Yay!!!!
