What is wrong with me? I went to my jeweler recently and was there for over an hour trying to pick a freakin wedding band. (I had been ther 2 times before, doing the same thing) My e-ring is shapped oddly, so that no band can fit with it. well ,on a whim, i tried a curved band that fit with the ring, and i just said, "Okay, this is it" and decided to get it. It is still at the store, as we were wating for my fiance''s band to cme in.

Well last night we went to pick up his band, and when i tried it on, i realized I didn''t like it - it took away frokm the ring, it didn''t stay in place, and I just hated it.

So now i feel stupid. Fi probably wants to kill me. And I don''t know what to do, I should just pick a different one, right? What pain I am. We didn''t bring it home yet, as FI''s band didn''t fit right.

do you think that the jeweler will understand? It''s not like he brought it in specifically for me, it was already in the case, so i didn''t screw them at all, right?

If you don''t love it don''t get it. It took me over a year to get the perfect wedding band because no one had a 2mm for me to try, so I ended up getting it online. Your jeweler won''t be upset- it wasn''t custom and you have bought (and will buy) more pieces from them.

Have you considered going sans wring?

Is that your Ering in your avatar? Have you considered wearing it alone without a wedding band? Maybe getting a plain gold or platinum band to wear alone when the occasion arises when you don''t want to wear your diamond? Another alternative would be to wear your diamond as a RH ring after you are married and getting a fancy diamond wedding band or eternity ring to wear alone on your left had. If that''s your Ering in the avatar, I think it''s pretty and substantial enough to hold it''s own as a wear-alone ring myself.

Im going to say to go with the AGBF method, a band that has a big hole in it that accomodates your setting. It will fit flush on the band but won''t have to curve around your setting itself.

Treysar,

Don''t worry about it. You should be able to return the WB you don''t like without problems, as you didn''t special order and you haven''t even worn it.

I''m sorry you can''t find a ring you love just yet. Is your setting super low? I don''t think I''ve seen a profile of that beautiful setting before.

Ame might be right-- what about a special/custom ring like AGBF''s?

Did you actually purchase this ring? Because every jeweler has different return policies..usually if it''s not a special order you can return the piece anywhere from 7 -30 business days. You should check with them before it''s too late. I think if you don''t LOVE it you should definitely wait until you find something that you love just as much as your ering!

I would return it, this is something that you should love. It''s not like it was a special order or anything so I don''t see where it will be a problem. Just tell the jeweler that you want to make an exchange. I''m sure he/she will be fine with that. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Don''t get it if you don''t "Love" it.

And don''t worry about returning it. DH will soon understand that if "You ain''t happy, ain''t nobody gonna be happy"

Just take a deap breath and pick something else. When''s the wedding?

Here are some side views of Treysar's ring I dug up from her old thread. The side view with the "ribbons" of pave is just so stunning, I personally wouldn't cover it up with another ring next to it! However, someone may have some good ideas after looking at your photos below. I would definitely at least return the ring you're not too keen on, esp. since they didn't custom make it and you haven't worn it.

What about the idea of wearing it alone on your left or right hand and having a blingy diamond band for the other.
Did you not like that idea?

Thanks, FG for posting the profile shots. Treysar, that ring is stunning. I love it.

Are you trying to get a ring that sits flush against your e-ring?

My new eternity set sits perfectly flush-- which is very nice. BUT... sometimes I prefer to pull the e-ring higher up so it''s not flush because the look of the "not-flush" rings is so prettyand delicate! Have you tried a wedding band that matches your e-ring''s shank in design but that sits beside but not flush with it? I think it might look awesome.

Treysar, I know how you feel as I am dealing with the same dilemma although I have not even looked at wedding bands yet. My ring is similar to yours with a low setting and lots of pave detail (and may I say, yours is absolutely stunning!!) and it''s so hard to find something to go with it. First of all, if you don''t love this ring at the store DON''T BUY IT!!! You''ll be kicking yourself and it will just drive you nuts to look at your hand and be miserable. I think your ring is so beautiful and intricate that unless you find something that you really love to go with it, as others have suggested maybe you should switch it to your right hand and get something like an eternity band to wear on your left hand. I know it''s frustrating to try to figure all of this out and you''re probably just fed up, but don''t make a decision that you are going to regret later. I''m sure the store will understand and your FI just wants you to be happy so don''t sweat it too much!! Keep us posted and good luck!

treysar-

you wouldn''t want a man, an e-ring or a wedding ring who wasn''t "THE ONE"- don''t settle! somewhere, there is a very low profile (meaning height) delicate band that would look delish with that ring and wouldn''t hide any of the amazing details. Now we all need to keep our eyes peeled to help you with your search

Of course the custom route might be called for, but with a ring that amazing its partner had better be pretty special too!

treysar...PLEASE don''t worry about what the jeweler thinks!! You have a perfect right to change your mind.

I think your ring is absolutely gorgeous!!! I''d hate to see ANY band obscure that beautiful mounting!!

If I were you, I''d forego a band right now, and call that beauty a "marriage ring". Then sometime in the future, for an anniversary or whatever, you could look for a great eternity band or something, to wear separately.

It''s always nice to have a "future sparkly" to dream about and look forward to...

trey, I think it''s totally acceptable to change your mind as long as you didn''t order this as a custom job. there should be no reason he shouldn''t allow it.

Trey, I have the same problem, my ring is similiar to yours (only square stone/halo) and no wedding bands fit flush w/my ring. I too was going to get a w-ring made to curve around e-ring, but like you had second thoughts about it. I am opting to get either a small eternity band or a platinum band w/the same etching as the underside of my halo. people also suggested that I wear my e-ring alone or on my right hand but I want to "look" married, not just engaged. Go w/ yout gut...if you don''t like it...speak up, it''s a wedding band which is a very important symbol!

Thank you guys so much for being so nice and understanding. I think I am going to go with a very small eternity band, or a 5/7/9 stone ring. I welcome your suggestions!

Good for you they all sound great!! I vote for a small eternity band!!

Treysar,
I like everyone''s thoughts, as well as yours. Your ring is gorgeous and why put something next to it if you won''t love it? I am a huge fan of mixing and matching rings, right hand, left hand, BOTH hands...it''s fun!
