my ring is so sparkly I can't stop staring at it! Seriously...does anyone else have this problem???

hahahaa! I stare at and enjoy my ring at least 50 times a day. It brings me immense pleasure!

Throw gunk on it, smear it with hand lotion, that should take care of the distracting sparkles... :P

Yes, I have that problem as well. When I go outside its hard to not look at it all the time because it sparkles so much.

Yes! Driving can be a real hazard  I enjoy staring at my sparklies countless times throughout the day!

I hear ya. I was trying to pet my hubby last night and got distracted by my sparklies. He understands though.

Well you know, the first step in fixing it is admitting you have a problem :))

BUT WHAT A GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE!!!!!!! Can you imagine on a performance review: "really great at her job, good with her coworkers, but seems to stare at her hand all day long. Needs to focus better on a day-to-day basis." Then you'd have to tape the bling to the top of the screen to make it look like you're working.

I have that same problem too slg47!!!! but I gotta admit its a lovely problem to have

elevators and SuperWalmart are my new favorite places to look at my ring    The other day I rolled down my window while at a drive thru to admire the sparkly flashes from my diamond.......

well my long commute to school is a lot more fun now, esp on sunny days. but im always afraid im going to rear end someone.

The ring is also interfering with my schooling. In class I catch myself looking at my ring a lot too (the lighting is pretty good for sparkles). When I study at home, esp if I have my desk lamp on, I take off it off so can concentrate on my books instead of just starring at my ring....

I also think I'm going to get skin cancer now because I would always stand/ walk in the shade before but now I love having my hands in the sun to see the ring's fire. Sometimes if theres a patch of light somewhere I'll reach out my hand to put my ring there haha.

I don't do anything too obvious when there are other people around. But in front of the boy i don't care so sometimes I will stare off at my ring when we're talking or doing something else, but he doesn't mind! when he notices he just says i'm glad you're enjoying the ring!

Yep, I've had this problem for many, many years. I warn you - it does NOT go away! I put my ring on first thing in the morning so I can enjoy looking at it right away. My favorite place to look is still Home Depot. :sun:

HAHAHAHAHA Stone you are hilarious!

So funny because way before I thought about getting engaged a married friend said "my ring was was so important when it was time to get engaged, now I pretty much forget it's there!" I've had bling for 6 years now..nope, still not gone.

Try sunglasses.

I also have this problem. I love Wal-Mart, shady trees, hang my arm out the window when possible. I admire it MANY times during the day. I am lucky to have this problem.

Did your friend have a 3ct stunner? 8)

I feel like it's only a problem when I'm driving! It is my fave thing to do in meetings or classes. People probably think I'm crazy or vain!

Same problem here too!!!! :naughty:

I love reading the posts from the ladies who have had their rings for several years +, knowing that this "problem" does not go away when you adore your ring!

FI and I were just in the grocery store and I was exclaiming how awesome my diamonds looked in the lighting!! He was like "Are you serious?  :nono: ::) " and then walked away... I was like, "TELL ME HOW SPARKLY THEY LOOK!!!" ::) ::) ::)

Problem?! What problem?

I absolutely have the same sickness! I have been known to have my husband drive on bright and sunny days just so I can stare at my ring! :D

by bean-your grocery store conversation sounds just like me and my husband!

Not only has the distraction not gone away, I think it has grown. I have a whole series of photos of the ring in various places around the world. I'm thinking about making a little album.... And I love the tiny rainbows all over the car or any place where I can catch and reflect the light! Bling is good

Yep. All the time.

b&s I am glad to hear this :) I love looking at how my ring looks inside, outside, in the sun, in different lighting...I am glad many other PSers have this problem!

Slg - question! I have been falling more and more in love with square H&A and it all started with yours! Do you still feel very happy with your decision? Does it face up about the same as a RB of similar size? I absolutely adore your ring!!

bebe-thanks so much! I love it, but I really wanted a square stone and not a round. I think the diameter is smaller but the overall area is about the same? Also there are fewer options than with rounds (it's a lot easier to find a round since there are so many of them) but I am thrilled with it :) the GOG videos really helped me decide what cut I wanted so I recommend watching those :)

yeah I don't know if it would work in that setting (I don't see why not really but I would ask one of the experts or GOG or Verragio or someone who knows more!) that's certainly a fancy setting, I think it would be stunning

Thanks for your input and for letting me drool over your beautiful stone!
