OK so...BF and I were talking last night...and we agreed that it would be before the end of regular season baseball (by the 1st wkend in Oct). not sure if he is trying to throw me off but he's been implying that it's going to be after i return in mid-aug...so...that's a month and a half...eek!!!! so excited :) :) :)

Now the real wait begins lol
 
I totally love that you're using sports as a measuring stick. I should insist that the ring be on the finger by the Bear's first preseason game!
 
haha it was my idea!!! i was thinking of when would be a reasonable time and it just came to me :) however we did discuss that it is NOT going to be AT the baseball game (we are going to the Giants last game!) IMO scoreboard proposals are just not us...plus there are usually like 5 or 6 per game and they are only up for like 5 seconds!! what if you miss it!!!
 
yay for the timeline!! and im laughing because its determined by baseball season, thats something my boyfriend would say lol..

my timeline is before summers end (by sept 20th i think is the last day) and he even said it would def be before then!! yay for us!!

Here is hoping he does not keep you waiting. Honestly, I do not know how you LIWs get through the waiting with these bfs who tell you they have the ring and then make you wait! Pure torture.

EXACTLY dreamer!!!! It's a TOTAL TORTURE!!!! Tell my bf about it PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! :bigsmile: I'm up to a point I don't really care anymore. Is it bad??? :shock:
 
Dreamer it should be another week/week and a half or so. I actually am not going to know because I am letting BF handle it! I told him that I don't want to be waiting forever but I want it to be on his own terms and give him time to plan something so I think this is a good timeline :) it should be sooner!

also, I mentioned this in a prev. thread but I am going out of town July 30-Aug 18 and he may want to wait until after, which would sort of delay things...
 
Well slg and beezy, I hope your boyfriends get of their butts and propose already! :devil: I am puzzled by men who make their gf's wait in these circumstances, and I am sorry to say it just seems slightly mean or controlling or something... it just seems to odd to me! My BIL did it to his gf -- though thank goodness she did not know that he had the ring. Still, it all just seems like game playing to me which is why I guess it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I have always hated any type of games within relationships, or power stuggles or any of those things, so I feel so frustrated when it seems to be happening to nice gals here! But I am an old married lady and not at all romantic, so what do I know? :lol: It is an element of human male behaviour that I completely cannot fathom 8)
 
I don't think it's always about gameplaying or being in control. My dh had the ring for 3 months. We picked it out when we were on holidays in New York as it's much better value than in Ireland and he asked me to give him until the end of the year (6 months in total) as he wanted to plan something great. That was fine with me and so 3 months later he took me as a surprise to Barcelona and proposed there. Hopefully the girls bf's are planning something equally great and that's why they're askIng for a bit of time.
 
I also want some sort of element of surprise...so I don't want to know exactly when it's coming.
 
slg-- i agree with u.. I like knowing the timeline, but i also want to be surprised too!! and sometimes i want a more personal engagement.. but then i think and im like.. hmmm maybe i want this taped so i can relive my reaction as much as i want haha..

I really dont know what i want, but im sure when it comes, ill be just as happy :)
 
Awesome!! Very exciting news slg! It's amazing how a few months can seem like years once that timeline is solidified though eh? :nono:
 
Well then I am really glad to see that you are on the same page with your bf on this slg! Same for NB, and Bee seems to have had a similar experience. To agree together about the proposal timeline and plans seems very different from when their is disagreement, which is when it just makes me sad ;(

I am *very* eager to see your ring slg! You know I love three stones, I will reset my diamond in that style in the next few years, and so I love seeing different styles!

oh no crossmyfingers it might be at end of sept...but we will see!!!! the ring will be here either this wk or next...so i hope BF doesnt hold on to it too long :) he better plan something good!!!

oh man so today when I walked home I saw a FedEx thing outside the apt complex...(blank, no apt number or anything on it?)...I was like...R_...are they going to leave a FedEx thing outside the apt? and he said...no...I would have known if it was coming...I talked to Denise (at BGD) today...if it was coming they would have sent pics :)

it should be here this wk or next wk (and I think they do hold for pickup so no fedex notification but I just got excited seeing FedEx)
