...until I saw this one.

I don''t even like hot pink and I think this stone is yummy!

I want! It has a slight bit of silk which I LOVE :) Where did you get the photo... it looks like something out of a gemology text, Tino Hammids perhaps...

Thats very pretty and glowy. Where is it from?

Thanks for the compliement it is appreciated. I picked a horrible day for my server to be getting moved from one to ther other!

Haha, you probably figured this out, but it''s Jim''s stone on this month''s One World Gemstones page.

Ooh, love that!

doesn''t look really pink on my monitor.....and i can see why you like this!

mz

It looks orangish pink on my monitor but the cut and outline is divine! I have a soft spot for fat and squat emerald cuts.

Yeah, I think what struck me most was the cut rather than the color. Like I said, I''m not much of a hot pink type of gal (though I do love me some warm orange-pink).

I would love that cut in a different color, say maybe a light green grossular or mali garnet...hehe.

Chrono, you are right on the color. This stone is a little more orange pink. The round that I have on OWG this month has more pink in its color.

Can anyone give me a link to the new site, or is Flawless Facets just down for the moment?

The server should be completing the move in an hour or so. This was supposed to be done yesterday but it was done today right during the OWG update

Oh, heavenly mother of pearl!!!

Yum!

What is the size?

Its 2.86 cts, the dimensions weren''t posted.

They used to list prices on OWG. I liked that. knowing the prices without asking makes me more comfortable. And I have bought stones that I saw there first.

but I wish I knew since they are both whispering enticingly to me!

Lovely...the cut is just beautiful.

Vapid - It looks like those mahenge spinel are running $2,000 per ct. Link Thank goodness I got mine when the getting was a lot less...

ZOIKS!!

Thanks Flygirl

Beautiful stone!

I too never felt that MUST BUY/MUST HAVE itch for a mahenge spinel (although I have other spinels) until I saw the ones on Jim''s website.

I like your website, Jim, tried to get on the "spinel and garnet" link but it wasn''t up quite yet. I look forward to seeing more of your work. What I saw on the home page was wonderful and I was really drawn to that first rhodie...

That cut and color is TDF! I prefer my mahenges to have a hint of orange and silk.

Thanks for the compliments. My server was being changed over today during the OWG posting. Unfortunately I now need to add all of these back into my shopping carts.

I don''t get it, are these supposed to be the hot pink color like sleepyspinel''s avatar? They are very pretty, but I''m not seeing the pink. Am I missing something? They look red to me . . .

I''ve attached a pic of a PSer''s ring that I use as my Mahenge guidepost and I don''t think it looks like this . . .

Not trying to be mean, just puzzled . . .

Lovely cutting, though.

Yum... I like it! That cut is awesome!

Gorgeous but so expensive!

Definitely an orange pink color.

Mahenge spinels come in a variety of flavors from pinks in super hot to bubblegum and to more reds as well as purples and even the most amazing blues you have ever seen. Funny thing is it is the blues that are extremely rare, the pinks are far more common, but none of them is super common. My favorites are the Mahenge color change spinels that go from blue to purple!

i know a certain digidevo that got ahold of a bunch of mahenges here recently too.
