Just wanted to share the the bracelet I made for (hopefully!) my jr bridesmaid - she'll be 9. I'm going to mail it to her along with a letter asking her to be in our wedding

The pearls are freshies - they've got some imperfections but they're nice and lustrous; vary from 7-9mm. The flash makes them look a lot whiter than they are

Fits a 6" wrist - I imagine it'll swim on her so we'll shorten it later

Chain, clasp, and headpins (22-guage) are sterling.

Thanks for looking!

That looks amazing! I was just thinking that I needed to learn how to do basically the same thing with headpins... would you mind sharing how you made it?

It turned out lovely! She is going to love it and cherish it forever!

Thank you, swedish bean and cushioncutnut!!

I originally bought 24 guage pins, they bent far too easily so I went a little thicker (I think 22g would fit all but the smallest of beads). 1" long. I made sure they had the flat ends already, though if you're feeling enterprising it would be a more cost-effective project

I used a metal coat-hanger to curl the pin end into a "U" until it hit the pearl, then used a razor to cut off half the "U" cleanly - pre-curving the pin made it much easier to tweeze it into a wide, round loop around the bracelet link. Threaded through the chain link, tweezed the end in, and ran some rough sandpaper over it to get rid of the plier marks.

I tried to solder the end to the body, but I found it impossible not to burn the pearl - there's not enough force to necessitate a solder anyway, though done right it probably looks cleaner... there are so many pearls that they pretty much block view of the chain, so I wasn't worried about that particular issue

Hope that helps - it was a fun weekend project!

I love these kinds of bracelets - great job yssie! I use round nose pliers from the craft store, but it's nice to know a coat hanger will work well too. And may I ask where you found the bracelet? I especially like the texture in the links.

I love it!!!! That''s adorable! You did such a great job making it
