Ladies! I got my stone! I forgot to post about it over here! I''m so excited though. Here''s a thread about my stone, and it has a ton of pics LINK TO THREAD

Anyways, on Saturday I went to the mall to try on some settings, get a better understanding of what I want to set this beauty in. But I was shocked to see how crazy expensive the rings were! In real life my budget for the entire ring is $4000 (well ok, actually I might be upping it to $4600 so I can get the setting I want

). I looked at settings with stones under a carat, .5-.9ct. I had to tell Tiffany''s that my budget was $20,000 and I told BBB that my budget was $10,000. If I hadn''t lied about my budget, they woudn''t have shown me the rings I wanted to see cause they would have been "out of my range"... What I''m trying to say, I guess, is that buying an ideal cut stone online is such a great deal!! We''re getting a bigger stone, a prettier stone (in my opinion!), and for sooo much less money. I''m so excited!

Don''t feel bad about it. They deserve it. They price everythin sky high anyways. its their fault...:)

He he, thats way too funny! I think we all might have done that at some point. I had to tell Tiffany''s mine was 35k to see the 1.6 ct round with .69 pears or some such thing! I love knowing we got a good deal on our stone!

Heehee! Do you think they know we all lie to them to get that bling on our fingers?? Well at least it''s not my BF I have to lie to

If they really knew what they were doing, they wouldn''t ask you your budget, just start putting whatever you like on your fingers, let you fall in love with it, THEN tell you the price... but I guess they realize most people can''t afford what they charge so they have to "pre-select" for you.

I just got back from a vacation in Mexico where nothing has a price until you are ready to buy. It''s annoying because you don''t know if you should even be looking at it, but the shop owners would say "don''t worry about the price... we''ll find something that works for you..." and if I stopped trying things on I''d get ..." Whatever you like I''ll give you 50% off of it today..." but since there was no price I was left wondering 50% off of WHAT? Sure.... that''s a special deal just for me, eh? The haggling drove me nuts, but at least I got to put whatever I wanted on my fingers. And I did end up with a silver and opal ring that I love, but I haven''t taken a pic yet. The guys in Mexico, they know what they''re doing.... the price doesn''t matter quite as much if you love the piece. Tiffany''s could learn a few things from them.

Keep lying to them. There''s no reason you shouldn''t get to try on whatever you like.

That is ridiculous! THere is a B&M store in my area that is also a very good online jeweler. And can I just say we told them up front when we walked in the door we were a ways away from even thinking about purchasing and they still let us try on everything! Some places are just ridiculous! BTW www.knowjewelers.biz is phenomenal!
