I ordered a .43 bezel pendant!!!

Hi everyone, I just decided on my purchase after debating for a while what I wanted.

History: my mom wanted to buy me a gift for about $350 and said I could chip in if I wanted. Knowing the pricescoper I am...I decided this was an opportunity to get a pendant I've wanted to a long time for a smaller price and went all out.

I've always wanted a bezel pendant and originally I wanted one that was around a .30 and upgradeable from JA or WF. However, I do not like their stock bezel settings and the project about about $200-300 more than from BN (which is a large difference!). Instead, I decided to go bigger and upgrade from the beginning and get a .43 from BN. I really wanted to buy from WF or JA, but the substantial price difference and because BN already has a stock setting I love, I couldn't justify spending the extra money.

The price difference between platinum and WG only about $157, so I decided on the platinum, mostly because I hate rhodium plating and hopefully this won't get as dull as fast as a ring because it won't get bumped and banged.

I've always wanted a strong blue flour diamond and I'm super excited about this stone. The stone was also a great value as a .43 and faces up almost like a .50.



Overall the project was very affordable and under 1k for an *almost* half carat platinum bezel necklace!!!!

Here's the stock picture from blue nile. I love the way this pendant is designed. The bezel is thin, the chain is small, it's attached to the chain instead of a slider, and I actually kind of like the micky mouse ears...call me crazy.

I forgot to add that I got the 16in chain. I like smaller pendants to hang close to the neck.

Thanks kaleigh! I'm a big fan of blue flour and I've always wanted a stone with it, but until now it hasn't worked out for me to have a stone with strong blue. I'm looking forward to taking it outside and seeing how it behaves and attempting to get some fun pictures of it.

Gotta love platinum! I love the heft of it and that I don't have to rhodium plate, I should be able to better *feel* it on my neck!!!

This is actually my first nicer pendant. I own quite a few nicer quality rings, but this is my first "expensive" necklace!!! I''m very excited!

I will post tons of pictures when I get it, so hopefully that should help you in deciding. BN pendants are really reasonable, a .30 stone in WG was only about $500!
Here is piccolascimmia''s bluenile bezel pendant and her WF martini pendant to tide you over. They were similar sized, but the bezel looks bigger! She ended up keeping the BN one I think.

I am very excited about my first pendant!! I think part of the reason I always buy rings is that I can look at them all the time.

I''m with you on the bezels, I think they are awesome on pendants and earrings and definitely help them out with size big time.

Thanks mela lu, it''s definitely goiing to be a picture extravaganza!!! There seems to be a lot of people considering bezel pendants and earrings lately, so I''ll try to take detailed pictures of the chain, the clasp, and the back of the pendant as well!
