I show my green stones,I love them Idocrase

My name is Alex and I am a gem lover and colector from Spain,I wish to show some lovely gems of mine.
They are mainly Idocrase and have also some hydrogrossular garnet in it's composition;I really fell in love with this Gems first time I saw them in a Gem market in Sumatra and I was told it was Sumatran Jade;wrong name as after several tests in labs it turned out to be Idocrases;they come from west sumatra from an area called Dharmasraya and these Gem is quite success in Indonesia nowadays but very little known in europe or us;I have an adiction to these green gem and allways get more and more;for me there are some of them that can rival the best of emeralds;I love more than emeralds;they come out also in other colours like black,yellow,pink even more rare but I love the most the green ones

Yes I have pinks,blacks,multicoloured,yellowish,orange,white
I think pure green is Idocrase and pure white hydrogrossular garnet then all the colours in between are a mix of both minerals but also containing other elements like the pink one I would say it contains Manganese also and in real the rough have been found in an area where is manganese mining;there are two places in west sumatra where it has been found material like this,Dharmasraya and Surian but there are no minint at all or explotation of this minerals just only a few locals by themselves extract it;sometines also the gold searchers that pump out stones and sand from the seabed of Batanghari river get some good boulders of Idocrase;nowadays is very difficult to get as they have to walk more than 100 km inside the jungle and uphill to arrive at the location where is some deposits;motherstone is usually sepentine but also marbles;most of my collection I bought the rough to locals and then give to a cutter to make me the stones;buying the rough is like a lottery,as example you pay much money for a 2 kg rough boulder but once you open it to cut,it has like an ourside ugly skin,but then inside iy has an amazing green or yellow or else;sometines it is very transparent with no creaks but others when open to cut find is full of creaks and difficult to get a big sized cab and semitransparent,just a very small ones,2 until 6 carats of good quality but for bigger carats extremley hard to get

In real they looks like Jade,evrybody think is Jade but it isn't;the even misname Giok Sumatra in Indonesia that means Sumatran Jade
They are very similar to the Californite from Carlifornia(same mineral vesuanite and hydrogrossular garnet),in california they misname also by Happy Camp Jade,adn same goes for some hydrogrossular from South Africa that also misname Transnvaal Jade but they atre all Idocrases and grossular garnets

Thanks for sharing. I can see why you love them. The cloudy arrowhead is fascinating and the long oval grayish white one is lovely.

The arrowhead cloudy one is hydrogrossular garnet more than idocrase the composition;I love it,one of my favourites
The one oval white with green spots more hydrogrossular garnet than idocrase also and quite rare,but I still like more the green ones

Yes that is one of the best top end quality but
the other ones also best quality,but this is superb
Yeah I have more but vey few as I can not
afford to have much like that;but they are from
my particular collection not for sale lol
That is transparent,like lemongrass colour with
a stronger green inclusions inside;I will try to
make picture of a couple more that I have like
this,not easy to photograph green stones
