Hi ladies.
This isn''t too enormously huge, but I was excited. M and I have said for a while that we''ll get married w/in a few years. It''s just a matter of logistics since he recently moved to New Jersey and I stayed in Chicago for my job and grad school. We talked on the phone last night as usual, and started talking about our wedding. Some serious, some joking. Then he says, ''I pretty much know how I''m going to ask you, I wish I could do it now, but I have it more or less figured out.'' Me: ''Ok honey, any inkling as to when this''ll go down?'' M: ''Well if you must know, Christmas...duh...wouldn''t be awesome to become officially engaged on Christmas?'' Me: ''Well of course!'' (We both absolutely love everything about Christmas and it may be cliche, but we''ve always wanted to get engaged around the holidays.)
Anyway, he went on to say that it won''t happen this Christmas because we don''t have everything together yet...I''m in no position to move until I finish my Master''s program in May of 2008, and he wants to work his butt off at this job for at least another year. So, I''m thinking/hoping it''ll be around Christmas of 2007. We''re not a couple for long engagements, and want to get married as soon as possible after we get engaged (we were thinking some time in May or June,) so we''ve said that a 5-6 month engagement will be perfect for us. December through June would be perfect for this purpose wouldn''t it?
So that''s it...it''s not set in stone (no pun intended, hehe) and we all know I would''ve been a LIW for a while longer due to him being stuck in NJ and my being stuck in IL, but I thought I''d share that lil story with you. He''s so cute, and I love when he talks like that because it means I''m not the only one who''s dreaming. I thought you ladies might like to hear the cuteness! Thanks for letting me share!
