My 32 wedding aniversary is comming up. I just bought a diamond in James Allen. I did a lot of research, and I pulled the trigger yesterday. I was sure the diamond had a GIA certificate, but on close inspection it has a IGI certificate?
I am not sure if I need to cancel it as it had not be shipped until next week. I am inclined to inspect it myself.
I bought just the diamond and not the setting

James Allen has a good return policy

thanks

Juan

What kind of diamond does she have now and is it going to be set in white or yellow gold?

Also, I assume you wanted a carat and what was your budget?

Just in looking at the video (which may not represent it well as it would look IRL), it seems awfully yellow to me for an I color.

IGI can sometimes be a little softer on color, so if it were GIA graded, it’s possible it could be a J or K etc.

You can definitely look at it in person with their return policy. On the other hand, sometimes these things are better nipped in the bud so to speak before shipping.

Yes, you need to cancel, now. This is not a well-cut stone. It takes more than just a GIA report to make a beautiful stone and
unfortunately, this is not it.

Let us help you pick one out...

Edit...FYI, the pavilion angle on this stone is too high and it has light leakage.

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, juans23!

Yes, cancel it now, please!
Not because of the color, clarity, or even the grading lab per se, but because of the cut quality being very poor.

Please let us know what you budget is for just the loose diamond and we will go to work to ensure that you get a diamond with the absolute best cut and optical performance.

Please cancel. It is not a well cut stone at all

Thanks a lot

I e mailed the seller asking to cancel the orderl. They are closed today of course

the setting is white gold, so I would like to be close to colorless
I like 1 carat, although I will be ok with 0.9 carat
I would like to spend no more than 5 K, but for a special stone I may go higher
When we got married 31 years ago our budget was low. I wanted to give her a nice ring as it may be the last jewelry present, I will give her as I am 63 years old

thanks

Here is a 0.9 WF ACA for 6 K - unsure if your budget could stretch that far! But with ACAs you will have peace of mind that the cut will be perfect. If you are interested you could call and make sure it is 100% eye clean (si). Good luck!

I love the 0.907 that @prettypaper01 posted from Whiteflash. It's guaranteed to be an amazing performer and comes with a generous upgrade policy.

Here are two other possibilities from James Allen.

HI:

Let us know. We want you and yours to have the best!

cheers--Sharon
