They actually had a generic asscher, labeled square emerald cut. It was just over a carat with a couple side stones that were trapezoids or something like that! It looked gorgeous, but the stone wasn''t very big...and over $13K!!!! It was nice, but not nearly that nice!

There was also a .75 with a diamond halo, and some pave on the band for $3500...but the underside was really lame, and the band was ultrathin! Very reasonable price though for such a pretty ring! I asked for the diamond infomation, and they told me that there is no specific info on any diamond under 10K, but anything under is guaranteed to be VS2 or better ,and I color....

The lights in there are so diamond friendly...mine were totally lit up and looked brand new...really they were all dirty and covered in hand lotion!

I think I''m going to stop by Tiffany''s tomorrow and look at their eyecandy! I haven''t been in over a year...the security guards are so menacing when I''m wearing my usual uniform of flipflops, t-shirts and raggedy jeans!

i''m ok with buying Costco jewelry up to like $800.their 1ct I VS2 with IGI cert on a plain 4 prong platinum setting, sells for $4750. the tricky part is....the weight is approximate and may vary by .05 ct.

Everything looks so good under those lights!! The thing that gets me...is the lack of info about the cut, and some of the diamonds look huge, and some look really small for their carat weight!

But, other than that...I love Costco!!

I''m just scared what those diamonds would look like away from the lights!

I've stopped by the Costco jewelry cases (but only once or twice, I swear!!

) and they once had an EC diamond solitaire ring just over a carat in the case. The specs given were a G/VVS2 (nothing else listed on the price tag) and was priced about $7000. I wonder what the rest of the specs were?! It looked pretty in the case...under the glass...under their lights....yada yada yada.

You're right about their lights!!! They can make the dirtiest of diamonds looking sparkling new!!!

Costco has some very cute fashion pieces right now that I''m sort of tempted to buy. One is a sapphire and diamond three ring stack set for only $399. . .(just looked on website but this ring isn''t online).

I''d never spend THOUSANDS there, but agree with DF that under $800 or so (probably more like under $600 for me) a nice little RHR or a pendant could be picked up. Because of the lighting, I''d bring in an idealscope just to be sure the diamonds were of decent quality
