I found a nice looking diamond through James Allen but I think I might need a backup plan as the pendant mounting side of things is not as easy as thought it would be.

Can I please ask if there's an easier way to find my little ray of sunset? BGD has an M coloured 1.1 ct in their Cape range that 4.4k. I'm looking at $2k max for the entire necklace, if I'm to get it now. I have sent an inquiry to see if they have or can get smaller ones which will hopefully fit my budget. I will postpone the purchase and save more rather than compromise the cut for the pendant. I am really after the best warm brilliance I can afford :-)

I'm in Australia too so I need to get the pendant right the first time round or it will be very inconvenient (and costly) to get anything fixed / changed.

Thank you all so much in advance.

Is it possible for you to get the stone and setting in different places, eg have the stone shipped to someone like David Klass and have them make you a custom pendant mount that you want? Or find a vendor who can make you a pendant setting in Australia and have JA ship you the loose stone?

Yes, that is all possible, however we are in a lockdown again in Sydney so there will be an unknown delay in getting that set here. I was hoping to be able to set it in a stock mounting with the same vendor, just a bezel setting solitaire with a 17" chain. I'm sure there will also be associated costs to sending the stone to another vendor for setting.

I thought the JA one would suit. I can compromise that it comes in yellow gold only as it's at a cheaper price with their sale and comes with an 18" chain. I figured asking for a jump ring at 17" would be an easy addition but that's apparently a custom change that needs a separate quote. So the discounted sale price and return policy will most likely not apply.

Oh well, will see if I can find a plan b

B2c jewels? they have a few pendant designs.

I am currently waiting for my warm marquise and halo pendant from Brilliance.com. I paid just under 2k.

once you select the diamond u want to see you can request vendor photo and/or copy of Gia report to check if diamond to your liking. Only thing is it takes patience to find the stone you like. But that’s fun part IMO. =)2

They have a few pendant designs; choice of 14, 16, 18 chain. metals are yellow gold, white gold and platinum. I’m sure you can request rose gold for additional fee

It is hard to find rose gold stock slide pendant mountings. I just went through the same search. Stuller has 3, if I recall. I know you are in Australia (and under a new lockdown) so this might not work for you, but if there is a jeweler who can order one of the Stuller settings for you and set whatever diamond you find, that might work and might save you $$$. I ended up going custom but it will increase the cost by a fair amount and I know you want to limit what you spend and I assume you'd rather put more of the funds into the stone. So I thought I'd suggest this.

Also depending on your preference you can look at Ms with faint brown. The one I referenced above was that color and I love it in rose. Of course some people don’t like brown tinted stones but I do. Here’s the pendant without chain.
