Ideal cut worth the upgrade over VG cut for 20-pointers?

I'm starting a project with 20-point diamonds. A vendor I've inquired with said they use VG cut stones. Is it worth it to go for ideal cut or H&A stones at this size?

I have learned that it's worth it to me ... you are the only one who can determine if it's worth it to you ... i.e., do you notice and appreciate the difference and, if you do, is it worth the additional cost to achieve that level of performance on this specific project?

I personally would go with the best cut stones I could afford.

Thank you both. I definitely appreciate the difference at least mentally. I haven't had the chance to view ideal cut and VG cut side by side to know if I can visually notice the difference. I'm just struggling with the cost.

I think you would notice a difference between the two cuts. Perhaps think of it a different way…..would you regret not getting the best cut?

The difference is definitely visible.
Do it if budget allows....
I recently made a half eternity diamond bangle with such diamonds & the scintillation & fire are simply insane

It depends on the piece and price for me. I have pieces with 16-40 point stones that are good, very good and excellent cuts. There is a difference.

For earrings like 5 stone huggies, I want size and color. Good cuts sparkle enough without drawing too much attention. Excellent cuts were too much for me.

I would be happy with Very Good cuts on a tennis bracelet or DBTY station necklace if they were 20 pointers and well priced.

@chamois @lucida818 @chere @OneKuhlChic I think I'm most of the way there to deciding to upgrade the melee. Money comes and goes, but I might always regret not getting ideal cut stones. Thanks to all for your thoughts.

Go with what feels right... You know yourself better than anyone else!!

If you've found your diamonds don't wait too long or they may get snapped up!

Yes!

I have a little 20 point D IF AGS 000 with IIRC HCA of 1.0.
(I just wanted a D IF diamond but this was all I could afford.)

The incredible level of fire and sparkle makes it look like a much larger diamond.
