Hi! My first post! I sadly lost my round stone from my engagement ring. After being married 25 years, I’m going to redesign.

I’m hoping to use re use the baguettes. Has anyone ever done a halo with baguettes? Maybe an eternity band?

Center stone 103 points, baguettes total 100 points. The gold is 18k. May opt for white gold, platinum?

I believe the baguettes in that ring are not straight but tapered.

Can't see clearly the shapes of the baguettes in the OP's rings, however, if they are straight ones then they may not be suitable to be set in a ballerina setting.

Just my 2p and observation.

DK :))

I think you could find a ballerina type setting that uses straight baguettes.
i dont think this will be an economical project, but one from the heart!

thank you for responding, so pretty costly? I would love to use my baguettes. we are meeting with the jeweler soon and I hope I’m not going to be disappointed. I have my insurance payment for the stone, which covers the stone replacement and resetting. i feel like this is the time to make changes if I’m ever going to.

Oh yes, ballerina ring settings are very labour intensive, hence they are costly to make.

I love the last photo. Thanks for posting these pictures. beautiful designs.

I think resetting your new diamond in a classic solitaire worn with a baguette eternity ring would be a very timeless and elegant look.

I do not dislike the ballerina idea, but is that a style you have always adored or just an idea to use the stones? Not using a professional jewelry designer could set you up for disappointing results with a more eccentric design. It isn’t what I would do unless it was a RHR, not for every day.

For your wedding set: the jeweler could quite easily use the best baguettes for the eternity and keep the rest for back up if you ever lose or chip one. I think you would have enough. Examples:

To be worn with a pipe cut/flat shank soli like this:

Or: if you go with a step cut you could also repurpose baguettes as side stones:

Thank you, good advice. After some thought, I’m a bit undecided. I am now thinking a slightly larger stone, almost same setting, just an updated version.

As far as the ballerina halo, I love some of them, not necessarily the ”starburst effect”- where some of the baguettes are longer/shorter. I do like the infinity bands. My jeweler has made two other pieces for me, so I do trust him. I’m actually going with him versus the pricier, more well known local diamond jeweler we purchased the ring from 25 years ago. I’ve had my ring repaired too many times the past 25 years, not sure of their quality these days.

Thanhs again!
