If you could get a slightly included Pezzottaite

Would you just get it as a specimen or set it? My colored stone monster has been awoken and I've found this really cool trillion cut Pezzottaite that is only slightly included. So.....I'm thinking I could buy it and set it into a necklace maybe? Then again, since it is rather rare is it more acceptable as a collector stone and not really something to set into jewelry?

Here is a picture of the stone I'm considering. Have I had too much wine tonight or is it a cool stone?

Such a cool addition to your collection! It is a rare gem that was historically confused with bixbite (red beryl), but its suitable for a pendant that you store to protect against contact with other gems.

I stumbled upon this when looking for alternatives to a pink sapphire but all the stones available were too included.

Rockysalamander, am I right in that this is a pretty good looking stone for a Pezzottaite? I'm kind of wondering if I could do better if I really stay on top of it but this would make a cool pendant maybe.

I've only seen a few collector quality at gem shows. They were nearly pristine (and priced accordingly). Thsi is a more unusual shape in that I've mostly seen oval and cushions, but I'd say about the middle of the road relative to inclusions.

AJS rates these the same, relative to inclusions, but they all have a very different look (but it has a big window)

i wonder if they's shoot a video for you?

I'm all for rare, but did you see this on LT? https://loupetroop.com/listings/loo...one/pink-slash-purple-unheated-sapphire;16925

I did! You believe I have been looking for a pink sapphire and bought one from Multicolour and then this one gets posted on LT? Always the way right?

I think I will pass on the Pezz, the window would bother me and I'm not in a hurry anyways. So then the sapphire on LT, that could be a great necklace.....

@Seaglow has a pezzottaite set in a simple bracelet, check it out in her thread :)

I saw that, it is so pretty. Maybe the trick to getting a really good clear Pezzottaite is to go much smaller than normal.

Hey StephLynn: Imho, you did well getting the Multicolour, as the cutting looks fabulous on that one!

Thanks Minousbijoux, that means a lot coming from you. I am super about the sapphire from Multicolour but I am always on the prowl for more pretty gems, can't seem to get enough pink as of late.
