If you could take 1 year off..

If you could take 1 year off, without bills to worry about, or being 'behind' in your school/work.. basically zilch negatives associated with taking time off.. what would you do?


I would love to travel across Africa and the middle east, and spending time with children who need mentors. I would love to just sit and read with them, and help them learn the alphabet. Teach English? I know a lot of my HS pals went to teach English in China, Taiwan, Vietnam and Korea.. but I'd rather go to an underdeveloped 3rd world country. Maybe do 2-3 months in one region, then move on to my next location?

OH, wow. I honestly don't know. I'd want to travel A LOT and see a lot of amazing places. I'd love to spend the whole year traveling around the world and seeing all the wonders this planet has to offer.

I'm afraid my answer is boring but I would sort of continue to do what I am doing with the exception of adding some more time volunteering with homeless animals. And I wouldn't get up so darn early to get to work because I would be off!!! That would be such a dream...to be able to enjoy life and do exactly what we wanted without needing to earn money for expenses. Sigh...lovely dream.

i like this! i think i would say something similar to a lot of people - travel. i'm a pretty well travelled person for a 24 year old, having moved from asia at a young age and brought up in the UK, and now living in another european country, having travelled to quite a few places in the meantime. but there is so much more i want to see and if i had unlimited funds, i'd go around travelling in all the continents and experience as much as i can!

I doubt i could ever take a year off...i have the working mentality and i think i'd go crazy after a few weeks!

BUTTTT I'd love to travel, spend lots of time with my family in florida. get a puppy and train her lots of cool tricks! Lots of time laying on the beach....hmmm
