If you were having something small, what would you wear?

I''m in a forget it all mood today

And since I''m in that mood, I''m thinking small ceremony with a dinner after (tomorrow I''ll be in a different mood I''m sure)

Just for fun/ideas: If you were doing a small ceremony with a dinner after, what would you wear? If you did this, what did you wear?

I''m thinking something simple like this Nicole Miller:

I bought this dress for our small, dinner-following wedding. Now the wedding is getting bigger and more wedding-y. I''ll probably still wear this, though! (I''m substituting the fake bling at the hip for something else, though.)

My other favourite was this Jim Hjelm bridesmaid''s dress in ivory.

this is what i''m wearing for our super small (10 person) and informal gathering.
it''s lavendar label vera wang, made of cotton (so comfortable), and it is knee length.

Pjean, where did you get this dress? It''s gorgeous! I might want one...

I think you can wear whatever you want - something more casual or full on bridal. Whatever your heart desires!

My DH and I had a small destination wedding (17 people) with dinner after the ceremony and I wore a wedding gown. I figured, I'm only doing this once so I might as well get the gown and veil. We did end up having a formal dinner reception back home that I wore the dress to, however I would have gotten the dress if we hadn't had the reception.

Here's a pic...

BTW, I really like that Nicole Miller dress you posted. That would be perfect!

I would wear one of the jcrew wedding dresses. They are all so fabulous!

I''d probably wear the dress I''m wearing to my rehearsal dinner! (which is a bit tight I might add... I''m dieting!)

I''d wear the dress my good friend wore to her smallish, at-home wedding a few weeks ago. No bridesmaids, but I was cake baker, makeup artist and photographer! And might I say, the photos came out pretty darn good for a complete amateur =)

I''m going crop it so you can''t see her full face for privacy reasons...

It''s a melissa sweet, btw

Rockzilla -- I LOVE your friend''s dress! It''s gorgeous! I''d wear that instead!

They don''t make the dress I wore, but J.Crew has these 2 that are similar:

They are both under $400, too.

I did that, and wore this dress. If I had it all to do over, I''d probably wear a simple Nicole Miller or one of the newer J Crew dresses (at the time of my wedding, they only had the Sophia which wasn''t super flattering on). We were married in a huge manor house inn and had champagne and snacks at the inn, then a small dinner afterward.

personally, i would''ve come up with ANY excuse possible to wear the dress pictured below...until miraclesrule had such a hard time with the designer getting her daughter''s dress altered. after that, i think i fell out of love with it...just a little bit, though!

Thanks! I bought it online from Bloomingdale''s. It''s from last season though, so they don''t have it all the time. Right now, they just have a size 6. I bought a size 10, which is too big for me. (It''s a very forgiving cut.

) I''m hoping I can have it taken in and up.

I took quite a while, but I found it! And I am a size 6.

Do you think I can wear this the day after the wedding to the brunch (I would wear a different dress to the actual wedding)? Or is that too much?

I think you could, if you take off the fake blingy brooch thing stuck to the bow.

Be warned - I think it''s a darker colour in person than in the picture. Just FYI.

We had a small wedding, 28 people including us, and I wore a wedding gown. I was in the same camp as Portia, figured I was only walking down the aisle once, might as well dress the part, minus a veil. That being said, some great, less formal options have been given in this thread that would be just as gorgeous as a wedding gown. I say wear what makes you feel beautiful.
