...because I can''t seem to decide on a ring.

We went out yesterday to look at stones and settings. I thought I wanted a RB and then I saw a princess that was perfect. Last night I was looking online and I saw the Vatche Royal Crown setting for an oval. Today we are going out to look at ovals. I''m sure I will come home still having no idea of what I really want.

Earlier today we were goofing off/wrestling in the living room, and he accidentally checked me in the jaw with his shoulder. It didn''t exactly tickle. He apologized profusely. I told him that was going to cost him an increase of one color grade.

Haha yeah, trying to decide on a shape of stone and a style of setting can be soooooo hard! There are just so many beautiful things out there!! Has there been one certain style that you have been drawn to over the years? Or something that ALWAYS catches your eye? Vintage cushion halo rings have always caught my eye and I actually had A TON saved in my favorites on my computer but when FI and I actually started looking, I looked at tons of other styles and got *this* close to getting a setting that was totally different from what I had always thought I wanted, but in the end I came back to my old faithful and got a cushion halo.

Also, would you consider your style more modern? classic? vintage? I''d personally consider princess cuts to be more modern, rounds more classic, and ovals kinda vintage.

Happy hunting! I know it may seem like since you can''t decide, the actual proposal is far off, but it''ll go by fast and I''m sure soon you''ll have the ring of your dreams on your finger. But have fun during this exciting time of ring hunting! Now that I have my ring I''m gonna miss looking at diamonds and settings and trying stuff on every weekend. That is until we shop for the WB...

I think it took me almost 2 yrs to decide on a shape, I went from princess, to Lucida, to radiant, to asscher, to cushion to round :). FF liked the rounds the most and thought I would as well because they look bigger for carat weight and are the sparkiest - he thought it was funny it took me that long.

As for the setting that took about a year to define what I want - from three stone, to solitaire from four, to double, to six claw but we got there in the end and you will too :).

Don''t rush it just try and enjoy it and you will end up with something you love :).

You'll get there! Before we started trying things on, I was dead set on getting a princess. Then after a few outings, changed to a round (which he liked better, anyway). We never did find a setting in any store that "spoke" to me, and I actually cried about it a few times because I was getting so frustrated with myself for not falling in love with one of the million settings I tried on. I was ready to settle for something I liked but didn't love, but FI said absolutely not. He wanted me to have a ring that I absolutely adored and that shouted out to me, and it seemed the only way for that to happen was to go custom.

In the end, I am so absolutely thrilled with my ring and cannot imagine having settled for anything else. The wait, the indecision, and the stressfulness of the search were all so worth it.

Good luck!
