We''re home and settling into married life, what fun! The wedding was wonderful and beautiful and all those great things.

I spent the afternoon with my mom getting my hair and make-up done. We went back to the hotel to get dressed and took pictures from 5-6:30 or so. Guests had started to arrive so I spent some time visiting pre-ceremony. My dad and I walked down the aisle to a mellow rendition of the Notre Dame Victory March (my uncle actually knew what was playing after the first bar!), at 7pm, the ceremony was perfect, lots of smiles, a few tears on my part, and then we took a group photograph and headed to the lawn for cocktails and apps. Dinner started at 8:15, with my dad making a very sweet toast (Almond Champagne from a Temecula winery, yum!!) to us and all our guests. The food was excellent. I think they expected more guests to order salmon than steak, but my family is a big group of meat eaters so they ran out and two guests had to wait a while for their dinner, that was the only glitch all night long. Dinner and dessert lasted about 3 hours, the room cleared at 11 or so...

We headed for Hawaii the next morning and spent a week exploring Oahu beaches, eating yummy food and hanging out at the Mai Tai bar. What fun!

I am so thrilled to be married and happy to be home and settling in to our new life together. Now I just need to find a reason to wear my dress again!!!

A few pictures my sister took to follow, I hope!!! I have yet to get a good picture of my rings, I''m hoping the photographer managed to do so.

I didn''t have a funny curl on my forehead though!!!

This is a picture of the dinner table, we sat all 28 guests at one large table...no need for us to wander and visit, everyone was right there with us!

Wow! What great eyelashes!!

The only picture I have of us together from that day, so far. My eyes look evil because of the red-eye-protection from the camera, otherwise a great picture!!! And I don''t say that often, I am not at all photogenic...or perhaps I''m not as attractive as I''d like to think. ha ha ha

Holy Cow!
Congratulations congrats!
So far, you look lovely! Honeymoon sounds divine... Mai tai bar! Ahhhh!
More pictures as soon as you can!
I love that you were able to seat all of your guests together at one table!

My sister took this while three people attempted to bustle my dress...she told me to look regal, so of course I pulled this face off then busted up laughing. She scrapbooks and did an awesome page with this picture and her words of advice.

Not the greatest picture, but you can see the ceremony site (we got married in front of the fireplace) and the many women it took to actually get the dress bustled. From left to right, that is the wedding coordinator, a good friend, my mom and my aunt. My dress looks like it doesn''t fit right, but it actually fit like a glove. Perhaps I''m being hypercritical!!!

Last one for now, the back of my dress towards the end of the night...

Oh Kimberly!
From what I can tell so far (I think you''re being a tease...) your dress looks amazing!
I can''t wait to see more!

OMG KimberlyH, I am having my wedding at the same place that you did!!!
We are planning to do the ceremony in one of the gardens, and the reception on the terrace where your ceremony was.

How did everything go? It looks great! Any thoughts/advice?

What time did you do your ceremony? I''m a little concerned about the heat since ours will be in early July next year, so I''m really hoping there won''t be the heat wave that there was this year.

congratulations!!!

more pics.. more pics!!!!!

I wanna see some more pics of your lovely dress!!! and of lovely you. :)

Congratulations!

Tybee and Melissa, thanks so much for the kind words! It was truly an amazing day. Unfortunately I have 0 pictures of my dress from the front...as soon as I get the professional pictures back I promise I''ll post them.

Teagreen, who are you working with at RBI? Lora was really awesome (and spells her name the same way my mom does!). We were married on August 5th so chose to have the ceremony later in the evening for the cool factor. It was about 75 or so when the ceremony started at 7pm. Being surrounded by greenery really helps. The food was delicious, the servise was wonderful, it was top notch overall. I have nothing bad to say about any of my vendors, in fact I have tons of good things to say about all of my vendors. I''m happy to share their names if you''d like (and it''s not against PS rules. If it is I can email them to you).

Beautiful!! You look lovely (love the earrings and the dress!) and your nephew in the sink looks SO cute!!

Thanks, FG. When my paternal grandparents passed away each of the women in my dad''s family recieved crystals from the necklace that my grandfather gave my grandmother on their wedding day. My parents had one made into a drop pendant and it was my "something old." I purchased the earrings to match from a company online, and also some crystal pins to put in my hair.

Congratulations! You look beautiful in those pictures! Looking forward to the pro shots! ps -- more details about hawaii please!

Sk8rjen: What would you like to know?

We went to Oahu and spent a ton of time visiting the beaches. I burned my upper thighs the second day (as you can see I''m very fair) so we spend a few recovery days doing the touristy stuff: Dole pineapple plantation, the Audobon society hike to the water fall (BEAUTIFUL!), a hike in the rainforest (even more BEAUTIFUL!). We ate at Haleiw''a Joes (yummy!) and had our last, and best, dinner at the Honoaulu Room (I am so bad when it comes to the names of Hawaiian places, please forgive my butchering and correct me if you can!!). The Mai Tai bar is at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel (the pink one in Waikiki) and John''s family went there for years before his father passed away, so it was our way of incorporating him into the wedding/honeymoon.

KimberlyH,
We're working with Lora as well. I just sent in the deposit, so haven't done any other planning yet.
Did you feel like 8:15 was an ok time for dinner, not too late? I don't think our ceremony will be very long (probably less than 5 minutes!) so we could possibly start later, like 7. Right now I'm down for 5:30-6 but I'm concerned about heat.
I heard Piece of Cake is a good cake place, and Adorations for flowers, but I'm also trying to do a budget wedding, so I'm not sure how much I would want a florist to do yet. I was also planning to use an ipod instead of a DJ since we can't have music after 9pm on the terrace anyway, so there won't be too much dancing. I think that's pretty much it besides decorations, unless I'm forgetting something...I liked the venue because they take care of almost everything! But if you have any great recommendations, I'd be interested!
Oh, if you have pics of your cocktail hour, since we're doing our ceremony on one of the lawns, I'd love to see them!
Thanks and congrats again!

Congrats!

Sounds like everything went great! Your dress is beautiful. We need more pictures!

Hi teagreen,

Again, Lora was truly awesome to work with. You see in the picture, she actually attempted to help bustle my dress.

Because we didn''t have dancing (we hired a guitarist to play from ceremony through the end of the evening) the late, long dinner worked perfectly for us. Our schedule was:

5-6:45 pictures
7-7:15 ceremony
7:20-8:15 cocktail hour
8:15-11 dinner/dessert

My mom commented that it was a bit late for dinner, and John''s mom, who is 86 and has alzheimer''s, was a bit thrown by the timing, but in the end it worked out great.

I worked with Nannell''s for my flowers because we had an extremely small order (RBI provides standard flower/candle settings and I wasn''t too set on spending a bunch of money on flowers so we used them) just boquet, bouts and coursages. They did a great job.

I did most of my own decorations (the exception being the flowers/candles mentioned above). I bought a large candleabra and placed it in the fireplace and some large colorful plants on the tiers above. The pots you see on the table were each stenciled with a guest''s name so it was decor and their favor. I framed some pictures from our parents'' weddings and used those in the room too and my mom bought a little statue of a man and woman (the kind without the faces) and that went in the center of the table.

I skipped on wedding cake and used RBI''s desserts. We had chocolate lava cake and creme brulee. YUMMY!

As soon as I get professional pics I should have some on the lawn, I''ll post them for you. My sister took off to drop her baby off at the babysitter''s and so the photography stopped at that point.

Thanks for the info! If you could also post a pic that shows exactly what the flowers/candles look like that RBI provided, that would be great.

Was Nannell''s price reasonable? I haven''t checked around yet, so don''t know what the general range is.

That pic of your nephew in the sink is adorable btw!

Congratulations - Lovely pictures - you are beautiful!

congrats!!! you looked absolutely lovely! i really envy you being able to sit with eeryone at the wedding. i felt like a large portion of the time was spent running around trying to say hello, and i still didn''t make it!

Teagreen: I promise if the photograhper got a good shot of the tables I''ll post them. They were really simple, lovely bud vases with a few tea lights, if memory serves. Also, I didn''t check pricing anywhere but Nanell''s because they had exactly what I wanted and so close that my dad picked up our order on Saturday afternoon, so I don''t know if they were reasonable. my nephew is a doll. He''s one big boy!

Ries and Amanda: thanks for the kind words, more pictures when I hear from my photographer.

Ginger: It was fun sitting with everyone and I can''t imagine how I''d have felt had we invited my whole family as opposed to limiting it to aunts and uncles (there are 7 sets on my dad''s side and 3 on my mom''s), my dad''s family alone has about 160 members...it was too much to deal and would have been totally unbalanced (John is an only child, his only living relative is his 86 year old mom) with so we decided to keep it very small.

Congratulations! You look stunning, and your dress is gorgeous. By the way, your nephew is adorable too, my parents have pictures of me taking sink baths too.

Congrats! You looked beautiful. I''m guessing that you went to Notre Dame if you walked in to the Victory March! What year did you graduate? I graduated in 1997.

Congratulations! Everything looks so beautiful!

Logan: I so wish I had gone to ND (I went to CSU-Sacramento...a far cry from the blue and gold). My dad and I have been watching games together since I can remember, it''s just a special thing we share. Congratulations on graduating from such an amazing school.

Anchor: Thanks for the kind words. It was a beautiful day.

teagreen: one more person I''d like to suggest you contact. Sara Sendzik was our photographer, she was reasonably priced and amazing to work with. she''s also willing to work hourly as well as within a package (she did 3 hours of photography for us at $200 an hour).

Just wanted to share some of our professional pictures. I am thrilled with how well they came out. FUN FUN FUN!!
