Some of you may have read my story - back in May, my rings (and HAND!) became acquainted with the car door....
It didn't work out so well. Thread here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/still-shiny-new-ring-with-long-winded-story-and-pics.94013/
I got a beautiful cushion replacement stone - it's really beautiful and it really "fits" my setting, but I really missed my princess.
I thought about getting a 3-stone princess right hand ring, but I didn't love it on my hand. Thought about trillions, half moons, colored sides, you name it. Thread here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/does-anyone-have-pics-of-3-stone-with-princess-center-different-sides.97258/
I posted this UPDATE on Saturday:
OK - I ended up making some unexpected choices and ordered a custom piece! It turns out that a 3-stone with a .75 center looked too much like an engagement ring to me, and was not providing me the finger coverage I wanted. My right hand is a pretty fleshy 7.25. I almost walked away from the whole idea, until my husband suggested a halo. Duh! He's such a smartypants. That's why I love him so much!
I chose a .80ct D SI2 princess center. The stone has some clear inclusions and 1 colored imperfection (a tiny red garnet crystal!) visible with the naked eye, but only from the side. Luckily the spot remains hidden because the stone is low set and the pavilion isn't visible. The garnet IS visible face up at a high magnification, but otherwise, good enough. It's blindingly white... and the icing on the cake: It fell perfectly within budget! I've actually never seen a red crystal inclusion in person before - I kinda like knowing that it's there! It's pretty neat!
The setting is 18k white gold: cathedral with milgrained edging and 5 graduated (largest on the bottom, tapering towards the top) diamonds on each shoulder. The shoulders taper up to meet a prong set indigo blue sapphire half moon (.40ct each) on each side, and the flat side of each half moon rests against a milgrained rounded-square diamond halo. The .80ct princess is low-set (but not bezeled) within the halo. The gallery is also milgrained and diamond encrusted - it has an M-like shape for my new last name. Total diamond weight of the setting is going to be approx 80-85 points.
WELL - it's HERE!!!!
who wants pictures?!?
INDOOR PICS ONLY so far - it was dark outside by the time I got my hands on her today!
Outdoor pics coming soon
This is a right hand ring... actually, a first anniversary gift!
