I''m back and I bear updates

***UPDATE***

Hello All!!

We''ll I''ve been sparadic around here recently and I apologize. I''ve been super super busy. C and I received our "re-lease" warning last week, must give 60 days notice, and we have to make a decision by tomorrow night. Any of you that know anything about me, know that I siad if I wasn''t engaged by the time this came up, then I would get my own place. Well, that is proving much harder to do than originally thought. Scratch that, I knew it would be hard, just hoped it wouldn''t have been an issue. Cheers to me for making realistic goals,

. Anyway, I''m pretty sure he has the ring paid off now, and it will happen in the next few months, so moving out seems pointless. (Yes, I''m ready for whatever you gals can throw at me!!) When you''re living together, you get really used to splitting everything, and the idea of having to front the bill on absolutely all of it, scares the crap out of me. We''re going to be together no matter what, so why we would we waste money that could be saved. That''s the practical point of view. The "Me" point of view is that I''m tired of lying to my parents. I can now see it taking a tole on me and my state of mind. Always worrying that I have to say "My apartment" to them, and everything that goes with it. I did stand my ground on one thing though... I refuse to buy a house or move into a house until I''m married!! He wants to rent a house and I put the ka-bosh on that one. Just a personal feeling. (Baby steps...)

Anyway, other than that things are going great. I''m loving my job, and can''t believe I''ve been here 5 months already, and that I''ve been in Houston almost a year!! C and I just passed 1.5 yrs; Our trip to Disney World at the beginning of April was wonderful; and it''s boat season!!! The weather in Houston this week is warm and dry!!! I love it!!!

I can feel ya on saying "my apartment" to the ''rents. I''ve been in that situation, too! Dear FI wants to buy a house, but I feel the same way - we''re not buying or moving to a house until we get married.

I don''t find anything wrong with you wanting to continue living with your SO. You bring up some very valid points as far as already being used to the set-up and saving money in the process. Sorry that your parents wouldn''t approve though

By the way, I live in Houston as well and I''m been loving the weather these last few days

If it stays like this, perhaps a trip to Galveston might be in order..

I TOO live in Houston! This weather is the best! I moved here a year ago and was dying in the humidity.

Lanie-- We are signing our new lease this weekend... I just want to get it over with. I have been real short this week, and I think it''s because this crap is hanging over my head.


That''s great that you both live here in Houston. There are a few of us around here. I work downtown but commute in from the coast. Boo me for thinking that the 20% humidity would stick around for more than 2 days. Today sucked. Back to feeling like it could downpour at any minute!! This will be my second summer here, and I''m not sure I''ll ever get used to it!!
