I'm engaged!!!

My guy popped the question while we were on vacation in Mexico last week! It was very sweet--he did it at Chichen Itza (some ancient Mayan ruins on the Yucatan Peninsula). I was an anthropology major in college, and studied the ruins extensively, so I was dying to see them in person. He got me to a spot that was secluded, asked our friends to take a photo (we were vacationing with another couple), and while I was smiling for the camera he got down on one knee. Our friend got it on video, and my reaction is priceless!

When we were leaving the site, he popped into the gift shop where he had ordered a Mayan hieroglyphic of our names, the date, and "today we become one" along with a silver charm for my charm bracelet to remember the day. Very sweet. Another couple on our bus had seen the proposal, so when we boarded the bus our guide made an announcement congratulating us and passed around cervesas and tequila for the whole bus to celebrate!

I got to enjoy the rest of the week on the Mayan Rivera with my new fiancé and my blingalicious ring sparkling in the sun! what a wonderful week!!! Photos to come!!

Here are some handshots taken with my iPhone--sorry about the quality, and also please excuse my very dry and alligator-y hands! In person this thing sparkles like crazy and throws all kinds of rainbow colors. It's not exactly what I wanted (an old cut or AVC), but I am really growing to love it--it's got so much personality!
My ring size is 6.75, for reference, and I will have to look at the cert for the exact measurements--it's deep and faces up a bit small. I think it's about 6.39mmx6.39mm. Perfect 1:1 ratio
