I''m having DREAMS about rings....

So I''ve been having lots of dreams lately that my b.f. proposes, but with the UGLIEST ring you can possibly imagine. I''m so distraught in my dream about telling him and hurting his feelings thatI feel horrible when I wake up in the morning and it affects me the whole day (I hate dreams that do that!!!) So I told him about my dreams and he said, "Don''t you trust me?" And I said "Of course I trust you, I just like being in control, or at least knowing a little about what is going on, so not having any say in such a big purchase is hard for me." So I think I made him nervous about his ring picking tastes, but since I told him about my dreams I haven''t dreampt that at all!!! Anyone else having weird ring/wedding related nightmares??

I''ve had a ton of them. They''re just plain old anxiety dreams, especially since you say you would like more control over the ring choice, which is something I can understand.

About the trust comment... The whole "if he loves me he''ll choose something perfect" and "if you want more control over it it means you don''t trust me" thing doesn''t always work. Sometimes it does, but there are a few threads in SMTR to prove that what the man likes and what he thinks the woman will like can be very different from what she''ll like. If you want to have a say in your ring, tell him, and tell him it because you are the one who''s going to wear it for the rest of your life and you want it to be perfect for you. I for one think the surprise thing is rather overrated. As someone said on another thread, the surprise last 30 seconds. The ring lasts forever.

I''ve been having similar dreams lately, only worse--it''s been my ex-BF proposing. I haven''t seen him in 5 years, I hate meeting up with him in my dreams

GreenSparkle, that''s so funny!!! I had the same dream...but even worse

...Last night I had a dream that I was marrying my ex!!! (my ex of 9 years ago!)....it was horrible....I was late for my own wedding...and was wearing a horrible black dress and no make-up! (because I didn''t have time to put any on)!!!...it wasn''t a dream...it was more like a nightmare!

...

On the other hand...I do also dream about e-rings...mostly about my BF proposing!...I love those dreams!

I know I''m dreaming about it because I wake up and my ring finger feels too light! And when I glance at my hand there''s a little bit of me that surprised the ring isnt'' there! Now if I could only remember what it looks like! Delicate, white and sparkly is the best I can recall.
I''m also having waking fantasies of him proposing. Like the last time we went to the pool place where we fell in love, I had this crystal clear image of putting my hand in a pocket to get a ball and finding a ring box! I could practically feel it!

Awww, Wren, I''m sorry you''re still stressing over that ring! But you still have pics, right? Maybe you get something custom that looks like it. And hey, it''s a 1920''s ring so maybe there aren''t any copyright issues attached to it. You could make the exact same ring!

Yep, I''ve been having dreams about BF proposing too! Last time he was proposing to me and pulled the ring out of a styrofoam food take-out box! Wierd!!

Every dream had a different ugly ring in it, and a different way that B.F. proposed. Most of the rings had clusters of colored stones set in yellow gold. Picture the ugliest thing you can imagine and POOF I dreampt about it. In "real" life (awake like that is) I completely trust him. Mostly because I''ve left a couple of pictures open on my desktop that I know he''s seen because I caught him looking at them. I don''t want to pressure him, just give him a handy resource to look at when he''s ready Hee hee. I love how women are so "sneaky" about stuff like this!

If you think your dreams are bad...think about the one I had this weekend...my dear''s ex wife was wearing my dream ring that was gleaming in the light. weird that i thought of her in my dream but frustrating that she was wearing MY DREAM RING! lol i dont even have the ring yet. lol
