He proposed on Friday! I was actually feeling kind of sad because I''d predicted he would do it on February 1st, and it was in the evening and nothing was ''happening,'' so I kind of figured the day was a bust. I said something to him about it, and he said, "Well, I *was* going to ask you today, but I forgot my wallet at home and had to turn in my lesson plan..." which was true, so I tried to let it go. I said I was looking forward to announcing it/celebrating it at the Mardi Gras event, and he''d agreed that would be great. He said, "Let''s go to my house, get my wallet, and then rent a movie or something fun," so I agreed. He even said, "I''m just getting my wallet" once we got in the car, so I knew not to get my hopes up.
When we got to his house, I grabbed his wallet from his room, and chatted a bit with his mom and grandmother, and then he said he needed to get his phone''s car charger. We left the house, he drove, but when we got to the end of his alley, he turned left instead of right toward my house. I thought something was up and kept sneaking glances at him, but I didn''t want to ask him anything, as I''d already ruined so many of his ideas by guessing what his plans were. D''oh! So I kept quiet, and we parked near the Mississippi River which runs through our city, and got out to walk. I tried to make some small talk about school or something, but he said, "Shh." I said, "Did you just shush me?" and he shushed me again! Then I was really quiet until later when I said it was cold, but not as cold as it has been here in Minnesota.
He said, "Now, it''s going to be icy. Will you be okay?" I said yes, even though I was wearing clogs, that it was okay. We walked through an alley and into a nearby park where we''ve walked and talked about serious things (marriage, moving in together, etc.) a few times before. He stopped me after we got into the park grounds and started telling me a bunch of reasons why he loves me, most of which I can''t remember
but they were all things he''s told me before, so I just kissed him intermittently and said I loved him, too. Then, he ran ahead down the little hill, and I was left standing there, wondering how to get down the hill without falling on my butt.
I figured the best way to prevent falling was just to sit down and slide, so I did! It was funny, and I laughed on the way down to where he was sitting under a pine tree, where we''ve sat before to talk for some coverage from the wind. Once I crawled under the tree, laughing and saying how much fun it was, he had the ring box out! I could barely see through the darkness, but he asked if I would marry him, and I said, "Mmhm, yes, yeah, of course!" and then "But I can''t really see the ring!" Once I saw her in good light, I was so excited. She''s sooo pretty and dainty and wonderful, but the best part is that I get to stay with S forever!! I love this man so much, and everyone is very happy for us.
So, here''s her stats:
.553 X-Factor Princess from Whiteflash, I-color, VS2, polish excellent, symmetry very good, 4.72x4.71x3.26mm in 4-prong Tiffany style setting in 18k white gold, platinum head.
