I accidently posted this in the wrong discussion board I think... But here we go again....

We ordered my ring WEEKS ago!!!
I know it takes time and I have to be patient....

((Not to mention he won''t give it to me right away))

....But I am going CrRrAaAzZyY!!!

AND.... to make matters worse, I''m still looking at rings and I think I might have changed my mind about my ering

I''ve picked out the most beautiful ring and diamond.... Now I want something else??

Ya see, I''ve always always always wanted a pear ering, large center stone with baguettes on the sides ::Sigh:: Then we started seriously looking and I couldn''t keep away from rb solitaires.... But I never saw any pear!!
Now that my antique, 8 prong setting solitaire with its perfect diamond is on its way, from London no less, alll I can think about is pear!!! Everywhere pear!! PLUS, the first ering that he put a deposit on when we first started dating (Yes, we were together for a few days and he knew I was the one

) Anyway-- THAT ring was a pear because he heard me say once that I loved it.

So now I can''t stop wondering, have I really changed my mind & should have gotten the pear OR has my anxiety & anticipation over rcving my ring caused me to lose my mind?! (More like lost my mind??)

Did anyone else feel this way??

Thanks for reading my rant.

I think that you might be learning a lesson that we all come across one way or another...
when Christmas finally comes, and you open your presents, there your presents are... the ones that you selected, no less!

It is natural to second guess yourself. And I think it's pretty hard to find your perfect engagement ring, as by the time the day comes, you don't want to wait six months to find a darn ring to put on your finger! So you go with an approximation of what you want, according to what is readily available. (although your ring is coming from London, so it sounds like you were pretty specific about what you want).

Often I find that a craving desire for an object - one that I feel I absolutely cannot live without - actually diminishes or disappears entirely after a while. Very often, I look back after a few months and can't really see what the fuss is about.
The entire clothing industry is based on this ever changing list of must-have desires!

I guess you feel you blew your chance somewhat, by not insisting on a pear. But pears ARE available, certainly probably you wouldn't have to send to London for one... there must have been a decision making process in your mind, whereby you selected a RB over the pear.

Personally, I am dreaming (!) of a RB, and I think it is the perfect engagement symbol (for me personally). Why not immediately set about saving for a pear RHR? Very cool. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?

Thank you, I needed that.

And I like cake :)

Especially on birthdays and anniversaries and christmas and....

LOL

Well I replied to this same question over in SMTR and didn''t even realize it wasn''t in the correct place. So here is my reply again. Haha.

First off, welcome! I''m sure I speak for many when I say congrats on your way to becoming engaged, and we can''t wait for some pics of what I''m sure is a beautiful ring!

My advice in this situation would be to cut down on looking at other types of e-rings for now (yeah I know it can be hard... I have mine and I STILL look!) and just wait for yours to come. You picked it out for a reason. And rb solitaires are so so classic! It''s definitely a look that isn''t going to seem "trendy" and is something that can be passed down. So I''d wait and see how you feel about it once you have it. Chances are, once your man asks you the big Q and slips that beauty on your finger, you''ll be in love! And you can always get a pear RHR! Or pendant. Or eventually get a pear upgrade? Or if you get your rb and realize that a pear is really what you want, you can talk to your SO and maybe get it changed.

Either way, good luck! And hopefully your wait won''t be much longer!

You are marrying the man you love. The ring is just extra. Enjoy your lovely new man, and the ring as well.

Thank you for your replies ladies!

I now feel silly for having posted that! I''m just very stressed lately and don''t have the support I wish I did.

((see Frustrated with Friends))

Ultimately, I just really want to marry him.

...But the bling ain''t bad either
