And today is now only 46 days. I am so bummed! I was out running errands on Saturday when I noticed a black spot on my ring. One of my micropave stones fell out!

I almost cried and I almost passed out. I tried to look for it but that was an impossible feat.

I took it to the jeweler yesterday and I won''t have it back for 7-10 days, meaning I won''t have it for my birthday. Booooo. Plus, they said they didn''t know if they would pick it up because its been about a year.... what?!! I''m supposed to wear this ring for the rest of my life!!

This is not what I bride needs less than 2 months before the wedding!! Thanks for letting my vent.

Ugh, I can only imagine how you felt seeing that empty spot!! Do you have insurance on the ring? How much will the replacement diamond cost?

Good luck, hopefully your ring will be back where it belongs SOON... ON YOUR FINGER!

SS - I''m sorry to hear that. I wouldn''t be too upset that it fell out - it is definitely one of the BIG drawbacks of pave diamonds...I had one fall out of my ring about a year and a half after I bought it. Unfortunately, it is just just one of those things...

I CANNOT believe, however, that the jeweler might make you to pay to replace it. That is crummy. My guy took it back, replaced it at no cost and buffed the platinum too...that definitely stinks.

Some places (and it sounds like yours may be one of them) require regular ''prong checks'' in order to pick up the tab if a stone falls out.

Seattle! this S-U-X!!!! Honestly, I hope this is the worst thing you have to deal with since you're wedding's just around the corner now, and maybe the jeweler will come through after all... (I hope I hope!!) In the meantime, take a deep breath and be glad it's not the big stone!
(hugs)

Unfortunately that is what happens with pave. I have lost a melee myself but luckily my B&M replaces them for free. If they do charge you I am sure it wouldn''t cost too much. At least they have time to fix it before your wedding!

So I went back into the jeweler today and she didn't mention that she was going to charge me. Phew!

However, the really sad thing is that we are taking our engagement photos tomorrow and I won't have it on! That just seems wrong.

BUT, the good news is .... we bought my wedding bands today!! That makes things a little better. My ring looked really lopsided with one band so I get to have two! I will take pictures of them when they come in. They are 'bookend' bands that are flat platinum up against the ring and then have tiny prong set diamonds all the way around each band. When you put them together without the engagement ring, it just looks like a knife-edge ring with two rows of diamonds. So pretty!!!!

I guess these a silver lining to every cloud!

Do you remember where you were when you last saw it?

The same thing happened to me several times. Found the loose stone all three times! Once was in the fabric of my office chair. One was on the sheet of the bed...and the other was also in the tight weave of a car seat.

I realize you don''t need it now...but take the time to look...you may not be so lucky next time on a no charge...if you had a backup replacement it may no be so tramatic.

I am sorry this happened...and why before the photo? Oh well, don''t fret you will get it back soon!

DKS
