Ok, I know I''m totally taking advantage of everyone''s advice and patience right now by continuing to post about my difficulties in the design area. I''m still struggling with trying to put everything together...and envisioning how it will look?

How do you think our venue would look with this scheme:

Ivory damask linens with sheer champagne overlays
ivory napkins
placecards/table numbers/china/etc- neutral colors
White garden chairs
Centerpieces of small stone urns with
-Option 1 "Very romantic, elegant garden feel created by overfilling a small stone urn with amaranthus, white bouvardia, yoko onos, burgundy roses, hibiscus pods, hypericum berries, and greenery" (as per our floral quote)
-Option 2 somehow incorporating apples/pears into the arrangements as per Gypsy''s suggestion. Probably a more modern look.
Votive candles on the tables
Favors of chinese take-out boxes in ?color? placed on tables

Other parts of the room:
Votive candles along windowsills
Hurricane candles on mantlepiece
?some small floral arrangements of burgundy roses also on mantle
large stone urns with large arrangement similar to centerpieces flanking fireplace
wreath hanging above the fireplace - I think I changed my mind to one more organic looking than my previous choice
Placecard table - our placecards will be enclosed in a pair of chopsticks, also will have a small arrangement and some candles
Antique-style photobooth (no decorations)

Do you think this will "work"? Please be honest!
Option 1 or Option 2?
What color for the favor boxes?

For reference, my previous threads on this topic

Or are you just sick of hearing about this and wish I''d hire a planner to do it for me

I think it all sounds very pretty!

I think that option #1 might work a little bit better (although i didn''t read your old threads...sorry!). I think i might worry about the brightness/vibrant-ness of the green fruit clashing with the overall neutrality of the rest of the setup. maybe choose a richer colored fruit like plums or cranberries maybe?

i have no idea what color would work for the favor boxes! white might be a little harsh, but would probably work. i''m not sure what colors they have available but burgundy might work too? you might lose the chinese takeout effect with that though. I think that either way I would probably set the favors up with the placecards instead of on the table and have the guests grab them at the same time. Since they don''t really have anything to do with the romantic garden feel you have going on, i would keep them off the tables initially.

somebody will probably say the exact opposite would work best - i have no idea! whatever you choose i''m sure it will look awesome

I think your idea sounds lovely. I am glad you decided on pale linens because I think anything else would be too dark for the space. I personally like idea 1 better, but they both seem nice.
I don''t know what color the chinese boxes should be but I think they should be vibrant! You have so many neturals in a space that lecks a great deal of color and I think that might help add the wow factor everyone should have on their wedding.

I love all your choices. And I can see how you are having a hard time narrowing down the ideas. Just keep at it...no one is tiring of your questions.

I too think a bold color would be great. I can''t find one in your palette though. I see flower pastel colors and neutrals. If you can''t decide on a bold I would use a golden color with an accent flower stem or ribbon attached. Or maybe a spring green to match the green in the floral arrangement? I guess I still don''t have a great picture of the exact colors of your choice. There are many floral options in your thread.

I just tossed a new brides magazine that was put out locally. They had so many great ideas. But the only one that stood out to me that I remember most was actually the Oriental theme. Let me see if I can describe what I saw. They had mini bamboo plant stalks at each place setting in tiny white gravel in a clear votive glass. The bamboo only came up about an inch above the votive lip. It was teeny. But so adorable. So it didn''t take away from the center piece at all.

Then horizontally across the top of the place setting above the plate they took the napkin and rolled it...but it was rolled half and half...the top rolled to the middle and the bottom rolled to the middle. ( think of an old decree read at the town square...hear ye hear ye....) So actually it looked like you were looking at two rolls of napkins. Then each end had a simple tie I think actually a golden twist tie. So again you have two rolls of material held in place with a ribbon or tie, and they had stood up erect from the slot formed between the two rolls of napkin, the menu or place card etc. This was so Oriental and so simple. I wonder if this could be done and placed either on the plates or as they did across the top. I love your chop stick idea...just wanted to add one more to your decision overload. You can thank me for the added stress anytime.

I do love the light touch to honor your husbands heritage in a sea of traditional ...it will be the jewel of the table. §

DKS, I''ve seen photos of my venue done in a sort of oriental/japanese theme and to be honest, I wasn''t a huge fan. It just didn''t seem to match the feel of the room. I will have to keep that in mind though - cause I think it would look great in my own dining room!

Take-out boxes could be basically any color - I guess the choices I had considered were burgundy, vermillion, apple green, or moss green. Or ivory, I guess, but would add a colored ribbon.

Was thinking about purchasing these hurricane candles for the mantle -

Choice 1: Lorraine
Choice 2: London

Which do you like better?

Basil, would it be possible to do half the take-out boxes in one color and half in another (i.e. burgundy and moss green) or in two shades of the same color (i.e. apple green and moss green)? I think it would look really fun with alternating favor boxes -- but obviously, I have no idea of what it would cost you to do something like that.

Both hurricane vases you posted are beautiful, are you planning to keep them to use in your own house after the wedding? If so, pick whichever one would go best. I think I like the "London" better, just because it''s more my style, but I don''t think you could go wrong either way.
