in may june july, i was on a roll and it was hard to STOP with wedding planning, but i had to cuz school came rearing it oogly head. now that almost done and i desperately need to FINISH wedding stuff and i can''t seem to get started! it repeats over and over in my head -- florist! dj! officiant! cake! florist...dj...officiant...cake! aaaargh! i need to get up off my bootay...it doesn''t help that my new home is eating up A LOT of my free time. am i just lazy or is this a common thing?

I was trying to do everything earlier and be done ahead of the usual timeline, and then I slowed down. After that it was hard to speed up the pace. So I say it''s common because it''s either that or I am lazy too and I would must rather it be common. Hehehe. I think you are just so busy with other things that it''s hard to get back on the roll. Maybe you can set aside one day to do wedding things and that''ll definitely get you back in the flow of things.

ginger- i TOTALLY feel ya... I was super productive, then I got really busy w/my quals exam and teaching, and since then I haven''t been as enthusiastic. I still surf wedding websites and mags, but actually doing work?!! argh! we actually have all our vendors, but now it''s the nitty gritty details that I''m getting bogged down in... like getting all our relatives addresses and trying to cut the guest list... sigh.

I only have a little bit left to do.. but I have lost a lot of my motivation too.. For instance.. we have to find a cake now because the pastry chef with our caterer was supposed to do it.. but apparently she just STOPPED making cakes one day. maybe she had a nervous breakdown and couldn''t look at another cake.. But I really have little motivation to find bakers.. We have a tasting today.. .. and another next week.. but I just don''t CARE!
And I need to order my flowergirl dresses because they take just as long as bridesmaid dresses to come in.. but I have to get my sister to do that.. I wanted to take my neice to the dress shop.. but that is just not going to happen anymore.. she is just going to get a dress and like it.. lol..

I love my hubby-to-be! Today was our 7yr 4 month anniversary and he sent me a little happy anni poem/haikuish thing he wrote AND a list all the things that need to be done for the hose and wedding and a schedule of when we would do them together. He knew I''ve beend stressing and knows my anal compulsive nature so this list was prob one of the the most romantic gifts he could have given me...cuz it means he''s been paying attn, and he cares enough to try to help.

what a sweetie pie! i feel so much better and this may end up being the catalyst that gets me going enogh to finish the rest of the big pressing wedding to-dos. fingers crossed!

thanks for all the sympathy...nice to know I''m not the only one out there dragging my feet!

gingerb--i went through the same thing over the summer. going to a couple bridal/wedding expos got me talking to vendors and excited again about the planning.

your fiance sounds like such a sweetie!!
