Insurance recommendation in Australia?

Can anyone in Australia recommend who to get insurance for my engagement ring through? My contents insurance is with CGU. I could just get it put on that policy, but they mentioned charging me an extra 10% because my "valuable" is worth a third of the monetary value of my whole policy. Should I just get it through them, or could I get a stand-alone policy through someone else?

Also, has anyone in Australia had to have their ring re-appraised to insure it in Australia? I have an American appraisal and they said I might have to.
