I came across this setting - I see the prongs for the main stone, but am wondering how the surrounding baguettes would be held in place? Is it essentially a bezel set? Any thoughts? I find this to be an interesting setting - I'm not drawn to the 'salt and pepper' look - but the surrounding 'halo' does make for an interesting look.

I actually love that setting!! I’m not sure but it’s likely a version of mystery set, as the line of the inner basket doesn’t follow the baguettes exactly to my eye, also there is no visible metal between baguettes.

That's a lovely setting. I really like it.
For the baguettes, there should be a thin ring of metal underneath the center stone which in combination with the outer halo walls, hold the diamonds in place. Otherwise, they could potentially set the baguettes against the other sides of the prongs but that's trickier.
