Intro...and hair/make-up question

Hi ladies,

I just happen to come across this website within the last few months and I have found this to be more help than TheKnot.com! Here''s my quick intro:

After 5 long years of dating, my FI finally proposed on 2/19/2006! We met in undergrad and dated throughout college. After graduating, I moved back to Northern Va and he moved down a year later. With that being said, our wedding date is 5/12/2006 and the location has yet to be determined because I am waiting on my job on a few things. My two options are Vegas or Hawaii, two completely different locations!

Ok, finally to my question. How much is too much to pay for hair and make-up for the wedding day? There is a place I have in mind in Hawaii (if I do go) and they are charging $65 for the trial session and ~$180 for the hair and make-up for the wedding day, is that too much? Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you guys!

guess it all depends on factors such as location. my hair updo and trial is $30 each.

I think the prices in Hawaii are higher for everything, including hair. So, it''s probably not too much, relatively speaking. The prices in Vegas might be more competitive b/c of all the weddings that take place there.

That''s comparable to what I paid in L.A. and the Bay Area - actually it''s a little cheaper. $250 for wedding day hair & makeup and $100 for trial in L.A. $250 for wedding day hair & makeup and trial in the Bay Area. I felt BEAUTIFUL and it was worth it.

I definitely agree that location plays a huge factor, I wish I was going to some place cheap! lololol...

qtiekiki - it does make me feel a little better knowing that there are other places that charge just as much if not more!

I think that price sounds reasonable for hair and makeup - if it makes you feel any better mine is almost twice as much!!!
