Intro: think it's about time

So I originally made it to this site trying to learn more about rocks and have slowly progressed over to the forums - and here I am!

BF and I have been dated almost 3 1/2 years and as of recently, I've been pressuring him to tell me where he's at with the relationship and he's finally indicated that I'm the one he wants to marry and even gave the go ahead to look at rings several weeks ago. He's 34 and I'm 28 and while sometimes I feel like a crazy lady for bringing up all this wedding stuff, I knew that I wasn't going to wait around for several more years and I needed to make sure that we were on the same page. I've always wanted to wait until I was done with school and lived on my own for a while and got settled with a "real" job. Now that we're both there, I feel like I'm finally ready.

I'm lucky that he's supportive of my craziness and even joke about when he finally proposes I'll be able to send out a mass text and everything will be all ready to go. That's of course an exaggeration but I feel like I have nothing else to do in my free-time so I research.

Well hope for the best. I really hope I'll be out of here by the end of the year and until then I'll be working on losing weight, making plans, and posting here!

Thanks everyone! I hope it's a fairly short stay as well, though I've had a ton of family stuff that's been going on recently that would have made it pretty much impossible for him to ask even if he wanted to! Also, as much as I hope that I won't be here long, he just bought a house just short of a year ago and we've been working on clearing all debt so we both don't have a lot saved since the move!

After wasting my time in a previous relationship for over 4 years I told myself I wouldn't hang out for over 3 years with anyone else unless it moved beyond dating by then. I realized it was silly to put a timeline on someone just because of a bad xbf so here I am still waiting around. I made sure to have the talk though, to make sure I wasn't wasting my time with a bachelor for life type!

So far I've only been to Tiffany's to look at rings and I really like just the basic plat. solitare or channel band. I'm pretty set on a round because I guess I'm a traditionalist at heart and love the sparkle! I even looked at all 200 some pages of the show me the bling post and picked out about 5-7 that I liked and saved them. Sure enough I still liked the same style settings I saw at Tiffany's. I did tell my bf that he shouldn't buy from there and to look here because he'd get a better deal. With how much Tiffany was, I could get an extra .5 caret!

Being in Seattle I really hoped to have a wedding in July/Aug but I fear that unless a miracle happens, by the time I'm engaged everything would be booked up and I'll need to wait until 2012! I just feel like I'm going to morph into a LIWzilla! How do you girls do it?? Especially when you're being passed up by everyone around you?!
