Hi Everyone!! I know it is sort of early for invites, but we wanted to get matching STDs (haha that sounds so funny) so we started looking for invitations.

We started out looking online and found these from www.notfromabox.com

What we really liked about those was the design and the colours (our colours are black/white/red). However, my parents hated them because they found them hard to read.

Of course, they loved the pocketstyle invites we showed them - and I do agree, they are very classy and easy as they have everything organized into a neat little package. However my FI and I wanted something a ''bit'' different.

So we talked to a local designer who made this invite to see what she could do. (I think I''ve posted this before).

And here is what she has put together for us so far! She said they are rough, and we can take any of the patterns and put them with different styles, etc. We will also decide where to have the red accents. It will have a tear off RSVP card too.

Yikes way too small..

try this again yikers.JPG

So my first thought is that I prefer the pattern on Style 1, but use it on Style 3 (horizontal).

What do you ladies think?

I really like pattern #3, with your names in the red. I think the others are great, but my first reaction upon seeing them is "WHOA!! BUSY! IS THIS GOING TO BE HARD TO READ?" The pattern on #3 is similar enough to the rest to have the same effect, but light enough that it doesn't hurt anyone's eyes.

As for the styles, I like them all.

I have to agree, I like #3 just the way it is.

I''m in the minority so far but I like number 2 (simple and elegant) and I LOVE number 4. I love the black bar with your names on it; I think it''s very easy to read, very classic looking, and I love the idea of making the dot between your names red for just the tiniest splash of color.

#2 for me as well.

My vote goes to style 1! Good luck!

#3 with names in red or #4.

Redo!!

I like the soft whispery pattern of 3, the black bar of 4, and then also attracted to the three line wording on 2. What do the lines say?

I really think your plan is most unique and will be well received.

Good job!

Did you see the wedding of Ries? The table patterns she had at her reception were incredible. I hope you have time to visit her thread. I think your color choices and theme are very similar. Also, the clothing store White House Black Market has some really beautiful scroll patterns in their line this year. It so reminds me of your invite patterns.

The lines on 3? They say "The Wedding of Janice and Jason, October 4, 2008".

I''m surprised everyone is liking the pattern from number 3! I really don''t mind it, but we were always thinking of something a bit bolder or something.

I also didn''t mind #2 because it is so clean looking - hmm...it''s really a tough choice!!

And of course I saw Ries'' thread! I''m one of those steel trap memory people who remember her from when she got her baby leon and when they got engaged etc. I think the reason she stuck out to me is because she is from the same city as me and I LOVE her reception venue -truly a magical wedding! And then when I saw her ''look'' at her wedding - I was so excited because there were a lot of features that were similar to what I am going for.

Thanks everyone for commenting - I''m not sure I''m closer to a decision yet but I''ve definitely got things to think about!

I very much like 2, the others are all a little too busy for me, my eyes start hurting looking at that much pattern.
