So, I ordered these beautiful invites. I spent more than I wanted to (though they were still a good price comparatively) to get them, because I fell in love with the designs.

Anyway, I ordered the invites in sage and cocoa, with sage envelopes.

They arrive, and I love them. Am so happy I spent the extra to get them. Then, I go to address them (since I am SUPER behind on this)....and they aren''t all the same size. The bigger ones will not fit in the envelopes.

So, I email the vendor. They say, well, we will send you bigger ivory envelopes. But, I don''t want ivory envelopes, so I email back and ask if I can get the correct size invites instead.

They say no, we normally don''t do color envelopes for the kind of paper you chose, but since we had some of the smaller size paper in stock we let you order those.

So, they knew they had run out of the smaller paper, and sent the bigger ones, hoping it would fit? Or what? I am upset, and not sure where to go from here. I don''t want ivory envelopes, and I have waited way too late to really have any options.

I should mention that the invites have torn edges, so cutting them down is not really an option unless I cut all four sides. Which, I guess, I could do.

Advice?

I''m very sorry about this. I am also a huge fan of paper and stationery, and this would upset me a lot, too. This is really your vendor''s fault (also, I''d be curious to know who that vendor is). Have you paid in full?

What I would do:

1. Call (don''t e-mail) and be really tough on them. Make them admit it is your fault and see if they can find any way to dig up some sage green envelopes and ship them rush, on their dime.

2. If they don''t have sage green, is there another color they could substitute that matches better than ivory? Brown?

3. If not, scour the web and see if I could find other sage-green envelopes in my size and at an acceptable price.

4. If nothing works, accept the fact that it''s going to be ivory and move on.

I had the same issue. I have black inner envelopes and did not want white outer ones..... so I ordered them separately from my vendor in a pale gray. I ordered mine from paperpresentation.com They were extremely reasonable. 50 Envelopes cost me $20 with shipping. Just make sure your order the correct size.

Do you need inner or outer envelopes, Im a little confused. Are you using two envelopes or just need the normal size ones?

If you have normal inner envelopes that are A7 size 5.25 x 7.25, then you need #7 Outer envelopes to fit them so basically 5.5 x 7.5.

Either way they have TONS of sizes.
They have a moss matte green that may work and a gorgeous mint metallic green that might work as well.

And then see if your first vendor can just refund for your incorrect envelopes....

GOOD LUCK!
