I am going to be ordering my invitation soon. How does this wording sound? Any changes you would make?
Thanks!

Ryan and Penny Rice
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Sarah Marie Rice
to
Sam Smith
son of
Joesph and Marlene Smith
on Monday, the third of August
two thousand nine
at sunset
Coco Reef Resort
on the beach
Paget, Bermuda

I would replace
"request the honour of your presence"
with
"request the pleasure of your company"
since you are not marrying in a house of worship. The latter is the correct wording for a wedding on the beach.

I was hoping you would respond to this Haven! You are the best with wording. Thank you!

You''re very welcome.

This little snapshot of your wedding sounds absolutely wonderful. I love the "at sunset" time, it is so romantic. Can''t wait to see pictures!

I was going to say that I would prefer a specific time rather than ''sunset'' to keep me from having to look it up, but I gather from the place it is a destination wedding? where everyone is likely to be staying at the same place so you will be able to convey the exact time later?

I feel the same way. I love how romantic that sounds, but I would be so worried that I wouldn''t show up at the right time!

Unless of course everyone will be together anyway... then it''s perfect!

Also, you don''t really need to say "on" Monday, etc. You can leave that out if you want, though I don''t think you have to.

I''m wondering if there is a reason to leave out the grooms middle name, does he not have one? You might think about making the names even, like using just your first and middle name since you have your parents above, or just using your first and last to match his.

This is super nit-picky, and there is certainly nothing wrong with leaving it the way it is now.

The groom doesn''t have a middle name and I didn''t want to just use his first name.

It is a destination wedding. We are taking a cruise to Bermuda. I am going to make up a packet to place in everyones cabin for when the guests arrive one the first day. It will have information about the times of everything. We are also going to be providing the transportation from the ship to the hotel where the wedding will take place.
