The color scheme for our wedding is black, white, and dark pink. I''m finding a lot of black, white, and light pink invitations out there, but not many that include the dark pink we''re using.
My question is: do your invitations have to match your color scheme? Could I go completely opposite of my color scheme with my invitation and use, for example, brown and purple invitations? Would anybody notice?

You can do whatever you'd like, but I'd personally try to stick with the color scheme. It usually gives people a feel for the wedding, and I'd remember that a brown and purple invitation didn't match a black, white and pink scheme. I'm a bride, though!

Here's an invitation style that comes in both black and white and dark pink and white:

Falling Petals

And in dark pink:

We Do

Vine

Modern Toile

There are lots of choices available in your color scheme out there! If you're looking to include the dark pink, I'd steer clear of the more 'traditional' invites and check out more modern options.

HTH!

It''s funny, EBree, I had looked at all of those invitations and loved them, but assumed "cabernet" meant the color was red.

I love the modern style invitations!

I would stay within the color scheme. If you can''t find a pre printed invitation with all those colors you could maybe get black and white invitations and just buy dark pink ribbon or embellishments to add yourself.

Or order the invite in black and white and send them in dark pink envelopes.

P.S. aprilcait, i just looked at the BIW list and we are date twins!! *yay* 5/17/08!

If you find an invitation you love that is similar to your color scheme but doesn''t match the exact shade of pink that the rest of the wedding will be, I don''t think that would be a problem. But I agree that if the colors are totally different, people might notice.
