Is ACA worth it for pendant (under 1ct?

I am in the process of getting ready to purchase a solitaire pendant. I’ve spent a lot of time on White Flash’s website after hearing about them on PS.

I intend to purchase a .5 to .8ct round for the pendant. My main question - Is it worth it to buy ACA in such a small size? Will the quality be noticeable?

My other question, for anyone who cares to chime in on it - What’s your opinion on the best stone size for daily wear? It will be set in a rose gold milgrained bezel.

I think this is a question only you can answer. IMO it's worth it to go for the best quality if you can afford it. You also get the benefit of their generous upgrade policy.

Will the quality be noticeable?

The quality difference will be noticeable, but perhaps would be more so in a ring, so again I think it's an individual choice whether the quality difference would be worth it.

I think a bezeled diamond between 0.5-0.8ct would be perfect for daily wear. I have a 0.5 ACA in the martini pendant and could definitely have gone a bit bigger.

Agree with the above!

The size you considering is perfect for daily wear and to me there is a noticeable quality difference even at those sizes.

That was my experience from buying a quite a few diamonds in those sizes and some even smaller for pendant/earring projects. I also noticed the super ideals also look bigger somehow, probably because of their edge-to-edge brightness.

Personally I think it is worth putting your budget towards getting the best cut with an ACA and because of the ease of upgrade with WF (in case you get DSS later).

Since you are setting in rose gold, you probably can save a bit on color and clarity (pendant viewing distance and bezel setting) so that you can put your budget towards the cut and size.

It’s good to hear first hand experience! A big part of the reason I was considering WF was due to the upgrade policy, but then I started wondering if I’d even be able to tell the quality difference.

Luckily I’m a big fan of warmer colored rounds (in the JK range), so I’m already saving a bit of money there. =)2

Since it sounds like it will be noticeable, I will move forward with my purchase with them. Thank you!

Here is a thread that @lovedogs posted previously that has photos and videos comparing a 0.4ct super ideal with a non-super ideal with good cut proportions that might interest you:

Easier to tell when you can see an example :)
