I really want to spice up the table setting at my reception, and have seen lots of cute menu card ideas. I''m having a buffet, so can I still do one? Something in the back of my mind is telling me that it''s excessive for a buffet.

Feedback and/or pics please!!!

Our venue did one, people really enjoyed reading them. I think it''s unnecessary for a buffet, but if it''s in the budget and you want to do it, why not right?

So this wasn't a wedding, but I went to a holiday buffet this weekend at Neiman's and they had a menu of all the items on the buffet to look at before you went to serve yourself. We all thought it was nice to read about everything that was available and plan your attack before going up to the buffet. It would probably help speed people up in the buffet line because they wouldn't be trying to figure out what they wanted while standing there.

I say go for it!

I agree. Nothing is worse than getting to the good stuff after you''ve already filled your plate with other goodies.

We had menu cards for our sit down meal, but rather than do one for each setting we made larger signs with the menu on it and put it on an easel on each table. It was combined with the table number, so that the table wasn''t too cluttered. I think something like that could work for a buffet.

Sap, that sounds like a really cute idea! Do you have a picture of it?

Here you go.

I''m actually also planning to do this for our table/menu cards! It''ll help save on paper and some extra work (since I''m going to be letterpressing these myself).

I''m still tweaking the design, but this is what I have so far to give you an idea;

Our venue provide these for us but I would have done DIY ones had they not.

Love this idea!

I think I may have just created some more work for myself though.

Sap -- those are super cute! Did you do those yourself? I love your design!

Newbie -- those are really cute too! I like the flowers at the top...they look kind of similar to my STD''s, so I could do something similar. I like the idea of only doing one for the table as well.

We had a buffet but I did menu cards as a way to keep with the "formal" type of feeling we had going. Also, I like setting a table and menu cards are fun. I printed ours from our crappy at-home printer, but I really liked them. They were super simple and added an extra something-something to the table. I just realized, after posting this pic, that I never posted my pro shots. I should get on that. Ooops!

I had a buffet, but also a plated starter and pudding. We''d also handpicked our wines in Italy and so wanted that information on the menus.

They''re nice for scrapbooks later as well!

Thanks! No, I can''t take full credit for those- I hired a designer to create all of my stationery and we worked together to create these.

We will be having a buffet and our caterer is providing menu cards for all guests :-)

I think its a great idea!

We had a buffet and we made menu cards (about 4 per table? - I put them between places) from DIY wedding invites from Walmart. I switched out the ribbon to our wedding color and printed them out on my computer.

I really don''t know that anyone noticed them, but I liked having them, and for us, the total cost was about $15.

I am having a buffet and plan on having menu cards on the table as well. I also think it is nice for the guests to have an idea what is being served before waiting in line as well as having the tables look more formal. I also like the idea of having something to scrap book as well, I hadn''t thought of that until I read this thread.

Omg, I love these! I think I may have to take the idea too (well it''s not like anyone we know will go to all these pricescope weddings anyways lol) I think I''ll photoshop mine and have good old kinkos print them out on a nice stock paper :) I love that little easel too! We are serving wine for the toast and I think it would be neat to list what kind of wine we picked. And also maybe to have 2 on each table since we have large circular tables, I just got excited :)
