Hello all. I know this is random, but here''s the story. I''m a bridesmaid for a good friend of mine. She asked to go dress shopping at a store that is going out of business. She thankfully found her dress and while she was completing the order and all that I started browsing around the store. Well sure enough I found this beautiful dress that I absolutely fell in love with. I didn''t think anything of it until the lady asked me try it on. I explained to her that I wasn''t looking, but she insisted for fun. Well, she sold me. haha... The best part about it is that the dress was marked down 80% I paid $119.00!!

I know my FF and I will engaged sometime next year, so I''m hoping that I''ll still love that dress as much as I did today.

The dress is a moonlight desing I-147.

Here''s the link in case you''re curious.

its a beautiful dress!!! and what a deal!!!

i love it :)

I love the dress, and what a great deal!!! Think of all the money and time you have just saved, and even if after you are officially engaged you decide you want to go another direction with the dress I''m sure you could find a buyer for that beauty

As long as the $119 is something you can afford to lose if you change your mind later AND your FF knows about it and is ok with it, why not?

I agree with neatfreak. Its such an amazing mark down that if you do find something you cant resist and love more than this dress its not like youre out $500 or $1000 for a dress on sale. The dress is very pretty and doesnt look like something that will be dated in any way by the time you plan on walking down the isle. Good find

I totally support the purchase! I absolutely love love love the style of the dress (but I am biased since the dress I want someday will look similar). At $119 you really can''t go wrong...worst comes to worse you are out hardly any money, but in the likely scenario you have saved a small fortune that you can put towards other aspects of the big day. I know of lot of us LIW''s talk about tough money times and saving for the wedding, and if you FF is anything like mine he will be super impressed with your money saving skills! Congrats...it is a beautiful dress!

I did a very similar thing.... I KNEW that engagement was emminent and I was shopping online and just happened into the clearance section of J Crew. I had never thought about their line of wedding dresses, but there they were. Yeah, a $500+ dress was on final clearance (no returns) for less than $100. I bought it. I figured if it didn''t fit or things really took a turn for the worse and it didn''t work out, I''d just sell it on ebay. I got the dress, it fit perfectly (needed ZERO alterations) and we got married three months later. :)

I am ALL for a good deal........

Wow!! What a steal! Gorgeous!!!

It''s beautiful! Good for you!

I spend more than $119 every month just on silly stuff like eating out... so I totally support that purchase. Even if you want something else later, you aren''t out much at all, congrats!

That''s a gorgeous dress for that price! what an amazing find!
Just store it properly, so it doesnt go yellow!
I''m sure you''ll look amazing :)

I don't think its bad, as long as you're sure about the one you plan to marry. I bought my dress a month and a half before getting engaged (not that I knew when I was getting engaged!). It was a one of a kind 1960s prom dress and I couldn't resist. Several months later we were married and I'm SO happy I grabbed it when I saw it. I don't think any other dress would do.

Normally I would say not the best idea but for $119 if I found a beautiful dress I loved I would so do that.

Nice find :)

Normally I''d say buying a wedding dress before even being engaged was a bit much.. but Wow, I don''t blame ya.. how can you pass that up?! I woulda done the same thing!

Even if you do change your mind about it later I''m betting you could probably get more than $119 re-selling it somewhere!

I sure as heck hope not because I did the same thing!! Congrats on your find! Your dress is gorgeous and what an awesome deal!

Thank you ladies for your reassuring comments. Since most of my friends don''t have LIW syndrome, they didn''t understand! However, I knew you ladies would!

I''ll show pictures when I pick it up on Thursday.

Great find!!!! It''s not as if you were actively searching for a dress. You were at the right place at the right time...the dress practically found you!
