Is there something wrong with this diamond?

Hi everyone,

I am looking at ths D IF 1.25 Carat diamond. But the pictures show there are so many white spots and I have no idea if those are the reflection of light or is actually something wrong with the diamond! The GIA rated the cut grade, polish and symmetry all excellent but there are two extra commands: Surface graining is not shown. Minor details of polish are not shown. I know these commands are usually in classifying the difference between FL and IF clarity. But those white spots really puzzle me. Please someone solve my puzzle! The pictures are enclosed.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Kit

Dust or lint or both, probably.

+1

I macro-photograph diamonds and I can attest that it is possible, but very difficult, to get and keep a diamond perfectly clean at this magnification.

The dots can easily be photoshopped out after the pic is taken.
IMO this is perfectly legit, but only if absolutely certain it's surface dust, not part of the diamond.

As said before, probably lint that's being reflected all over the place so it looks like there's a lot. If you saw this stone at true size in real life, you'll never see it. If it's a 'mind clean' thing where you're worried that you're not getting a true IF then have a chat with your vendor. If GIA graded it so though, I think it's a safe bet.

dust + small virtual facets catching an led light in the lighting environment.
This is about step cuts but virtual facets are the major factor in RB's also.
Even from the side it has virtual facets.

Virtual facets for an RB
