Is this a great diamond?

1. I would put anything from JA on hold so it doesn't get purchased from under you.

2. I wouldn't necessarily call it "Great", especially without any advanced images. It's a tad deeper than we recommend, and the 36 crown could cause issues depending on how much GIA rounds.

It's pretty decent, but it's also pretty expensive for a stone that I wouldn't call great

Here's a few really nice ones. I'll start with my favorite among them

Ugh, thanks for the advice. Im having so much trouble finding the right diamond but appreciate your response! Question - if all of the measurements are within the member-recommended range as listed here: https://www.pricescope.com/education/diamond-cut/diamond-proportions, except for ONE (for example 36 crown), does that throw off the entire diamond in terms of cut quality and brilliance/light?

Yeah youre right, its pricey. Thanks for the links! I'm hoping ill find something color I if thats possible at all? Im looking for a great cut, with carat being in the range you were seeing (2.5-3) and budget hoping to stay around 33-34k.

Unfortunately, yes. The one you linked is within the ranges (36 crown with 40.6 pavillion and 80 lowers). However, the stone is slightly deeper than recommended, and in general it's best to get advanced images for anything that falls outside of the "Safest" zone (e.g. green)

Absolutely. WF ACAs are incredible

Thanks! By the way, this is the light image for the original diamond above. How can you tell if its good?

The nice thing about WF is that you can upgrade (color?) later on.

This one also looks nice...

The idealscope image looks pretty good. Some issues around the 9 o'clock area but not bad IMO.

Still prefer an ACA. Cut is better as well as trade-up policy.
