I had the idea to use superhero names as table names. My fiance is known for being a comic book collector and fan of all things superhero - especially Superman. We''re planning to be introduced to the Superman theme song music, he may wear Superman cufflinks, and there is Superman on our wedding website.
I discussed this idea with my mom and she said it would look silly, "people won''t get it" and "it won''t go with your theme". I don''t really have a theme, but there will be sort of a 1920''s garden/kitschy asian feel to the reception. I wasn''t going to have comic book pictures, but just rather plain signs with elegant calligraphy saying "Superman" or "Wonderwoman", etc.
My feeling is that most people will get it if they know us at all. And if they don''t already know, they''ll probably figure it out. And comic books were very popular in the 1930s and 40s, which isn''t too far off.
Anyway, please let me know if this idea is truly foolish? I would really hate for people to really think it''s stupid, even if we like it.
