Is this a worthless diamond ?

I purchased a diamond on ebay, for cheap, it was $1000

the diamond is 7mm in diameter and is said to be 1.25ct. I have taken a good look at it through a magnifying glass and failed to find a single inclusion.

the thing with this diamond is the colour, in reality the color is not as bad as it looks on the picture, but it has a strong grey/green taint to it, which is noticable even under the sunlight.

I have the option to send it back.

was I ripped off and should I send it back ?

Did the seller list the actual color? Could you take it to a local jeweler and see what they think of it? I love colored diamonds, and I wouldn't necessarily turn my nose up at that stone, but I'd have to see it in person to determine how I might be able to work with it (for example, a unique setting to highlight the color).

Can you post a picture of the stone head on and one from the side showing the profile? Also post any other specs you may have (i.e., depth). I think that would go a long way in getting help from the experts.

the seller said the colour was "J" which is a clear lie. its ironic, the seller has over 1000 positive feedbacks.

two more pics: side pic and front pic

I repeat, the stone does not have any inclusions visible with a 30x magnifying glass. the thing with this diamond is that it doesn't sparkle as much as it should.

the jeweler said he does not know what to say about this, as he (the jeweler) only sells high quality diamonds, and not "fancy coloured" one's.

I have a diamond with a similar color, I set it in a rose gold bezel in a pendant, and I love it. I think the price you paid seems good, but do you know what you want to do with it?

I'm a speculator . cant see how I can resell it

I'm sorry, but I do not think that stone is pretty.

If you loved it and wanted to set it and keep it that's one thing - I think you'd have a tough time reselling this one.

it was presented as follows on ebay: the difference is striking. I have the option to send it back, and thats exactly what I will do right away.

I would send it back simply based on the fact that the seller intentionally manipulated you and lied to you. It is clearly not a "J" and it looks like the image has been altered to blur the actual color of the stone. Not cool.

The stone looks very dirty. it would be fun to see a photo of it really scrubbed before you send it back. I think it might have much more sparkle.
I'm not talking about the color - I think that's pretty, but the surface looks coated with debris.

im a newbie and not very knowledgable about diamonds so take this with a grain of salt.
but here is one possibility:
the diamond looks very milky/oily/ hazy to me- even in the ebay photo. in your photos there is that oiliness too, but with a green tint. perhaps it is a true "J" but with very strong green fluorescence?

No inclusions..greenish grey......could it be a moissonite not a diamond? Sometimes a diamond tester gives false positives to moissys.

To my eye the ebay photo looks very blown out / intentionally overexposed.
If your photo is anything close to a fair representation you should send it back based on their false representation and cynical manipulation.

I be thinking fake as in moissanite.

There's no way it's worth 1000 dollars. You ripped your self off.

I think it would be very hard to get more than $1,000 for it. At least the seller has no problem with you returning it.

Sell it to whom?

The issue here has more to do with your selling skills than the goods. The last guy, who apparently is a professional jeweler, chose to sell it on eBay and he got $1000 for it (less ebay and paypal fees) by using a seriously modified picture. What are you planning on doing differently that will, presumably, net you more money?

Mega clean it first and then see how it looks.
